I will not be taking an exam in June unless it is an an exam hall. I have now tried to take 3 exams remotely and I only got to sit one of them, SBL in December. I have been unable to sit AAA twice and I have been using the same laptop in the same location for all 3. It makes no sense. I can’t take more time off work and study so hard for for a remote exam in June when I now have to assume the exam will probably not go ahead.
March 2, 2021 at 3:04 pm #612691Yes, thank you for the info. The mitigating circumstance does not apply to me as I did not get to start the exam at all. I sent a complaint email to complaints@accaglobal.com and requested a re-sit ASAP, even though I knew it was a long shot. I got a response just now saying I would have to re-sit in June and that my fee had been credited back to my account. They also suggested I check my webcam even though I had sent them screenshots of my camera working while I was chatting to the invigilator. I received no apology for the time and money that this has cost me and no admission that the fault was not at my end, even with the screenshots and my pointing out that many other people had experienced the same issue as me. The lack of accountability is infuriating and extremely unprofessional! They have a dismissively arrogant attitude, but I suppose there is nothing I can do about it, they have all the power and they don’t care!
March 2, 2021 at 10:31 am #612595I was to sit AAA at 11:15 after it had been cancelled in December due to technical issues. The invigilator would not launch the exam as they said my camera was not working. I have screenshots to show that it was. I plead with the invigilator to help me as I couldn’t go through this again after taking 2 days annual leave and having studied so hard for 5 days. They just kept saying I had to withdraw and rebook, no help, no interest. I asked to speak to the persons supervisor and the just cut me off. That’s twice in a row now I’ve had to go through this. I can’t face it again. I want to do something but feel powerless. They don’t care, they know they have me trapped and there is nothing I can do. I tried ringing but their phones wouldn’t work. I emailed them, so I should receive a standardised reply in about 3 days and then if I follow up be told it was my fault, even though it clearly wasn’t.

I took the exam in Bluebell, Dublin yesterday. It was slightly delayed, maybe 10 – 15 minutes. People screens seemed to be loading at different times. I was given the extra time at the end so it was only a minor inconvenience really. Sorry to hear about the serious problems other people experienced.
As for the paper, I spent way too long on question 1, so question 3 was very rushed. Hopefully they will be forgiving considering the first time CBE element did cost me some time. I couldn’t even practice in advance because it wouldn’t work on the ACCA website. If it was a hard copy exam paper and I typed my answers on the computer it would have been a lot easier, the screen got very crowded at times.
