May 1, 2018 at 4:52 am #449587Hi trephena,
Thanks so much trephena ! This was very helpful . However I just came across another question please :
Some of my references are valid and verified as its from reputable sources like Bloomberg and WSJ. But as I click on the links that I provided, it now insists on “SUBSCRIBE to THE NEWSLETTER or Become a Member to read “.
Although these resources were easily available but Now thats I may have viewed it time and again and now it is insisting on membership. Does that make my ref invalid ?
Do I have to find sources again ?
Thanks trephena all this time for promptly helping me through .
April 25, 2018 at 1:46 pm #448791Hi Ehsan and All OT members,
You mentioned that :
2) You don’t need to extract pages from annual reports – given that you have referenced correctly and stated the page number in the reference All is fine.
SO This means Screenshots of the f/statement as appendix is not MANDATORY. I have the necessary 4 files (RAP,SLS,PPT,Ref) and Excel. Nothing more than this . Is that fine..
Regards,
EhsanThanks.

April 23, 2018 at 9:50 am #448514Hi trephena and OT team,
Please may I ask a question regarding the organization of my information. I read at some page, that one must first mention the Business-Analysis first . However, I did the financial first . Would that be a really big problem?
Thanks so much

April 9, 2018 at 3:24 pm #445817Hi trephena,
Thanks so much for the reply. I appreciate it.
I aim to explain lesser ratios in more depth to explain the significance of each. This also brings me to another similar second-thought, though I know it may not have been strictly specified in numbers. But if I just mention 2 Strengths.. would that sound less ? I know there can be many many more but I just explained 2 , in depth. Please, i would like to know your opinion on this please.
Thank you very much for the tips and guidance always .
April 4, 2018 at 5:28 pm #445014Hi @ LearningLuminarium ,trephena and the OT mentors,
I am very close to summarizing my financial analysis but I need some help on my Ratios. I have calculated and thoroughly analysed the following ratios for Airbus :
1 – Sales Ratio ( analysed the sales/orders/deliveries )
2 – For Profitability : Operating Profit Margin Ratio
3 – For Liquidity : Current Ratio
4 – Debt-to-Equity Ratio
5 – Dividend Payout RatioI know there are more common ratios that I am not calculating such as :
P/E Ratio, Return on Equity , ROE , ROCE .
Please can you guide me if my ratio are sufficient ? Am i missing something ? Will they object that I didnt cover something. please can you help on this.
Thanks so much

March 6, 2018 at 5:08 pm #440724Hi @trephena,
Thank you for the replies lately ! I appreciate your reply and help. So glad to see you back again.
Trephena, please may I ask if we need to add the Financial statements in the appendix ? and how to do so ? The InfomationPack says : You must include appropriate extracts from the organisation’s financial statements as an appendix. what do extract refer to ? Screenshots of the f/statement?
Please if someone can help on explaining this.
Thank you @trephena and OT team
February 21, 2018 at 1:08 pm #438239Hi @ehsan, @ mentors, and OT forum,
Please can you suggest if my choice of using EBIT- adjusted for calculating Operating Margin is correct? Would that be incorrect ? I am doing this avoid factoring in the “One Off changes” that may effect the overall performance of my airframe companies ? Will the marker object over EBIT versus EBIT adjusted ?
Thank you for the help.

Hello trephena . I am currently doing my rap on Boeing & Airbus and I need your guidance to answer a few questions.
1) Since Airbus has not yet publish it’s 2017 f/s, should I just include 2014 & 15 analysis in my rap .
2) When comparing Boeing, should I explain all the changes in Boeing as well . Cause doing so, would cause me to write alot.
3) I am having difficulties in comparing the current ratio of Airbus with Boeing. What I mean is I cannot understand why Boeing has a higher ratio than Airbus . What must I read to form a better analysis.
Thanking you in advance for your responseJanuary 29, 2018 at 7:17 am #433729Hi trephena,
Thank you for the guidance.
Based on the discussion at OT, I figured out that I must not do basic annual comparison of the profit and loss but instead must find a trend that I can analyse. The challenge is that this is a very vast industry, and sometimes I feel lost figuring how which one to Focus on.So many moving pieces in this industry. Like commercial, defense, space and technology; and all of which cannot be looked into. I have chosen to analyse a trend that may exist in the past 3 years and probably going to overlook specific Aircrafts programmes that are too detailed to study? correct. Looking into larger topics, I narrowed down indicators like Customer Financial , Free cash flows liquidity ratios; is that a better approach ? Its confusing to determine which is the best element to study and how much to study it , given the word limit.
I will begin following the Period 35 onwards thread, but please if you could me streamline my study a bit more. Thanks so much trephena.

December 18, 2017 at 5:41 am #423888Thanks @trephena,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I will re-select the other mentor when submissions begin in May as no immediate actions are required to be taken.
As for the mentor, I hope to seek your help soon and would like to inquire about his professional conduct.
December 13, 2017 at 4:21 pm #423049Thank You @trephena,
Your guess on his reaction was correct as he now denies to recognize me.
Although, I have decided to find someone else but I’d like to ask if he could cause any damage beyond this as I had selected him then ? On another note, I also would like to ask if re-selecting your mentor must be done immediately ? or is it only opened during the submission period? Currently I am unable to even login into my account.
Thanks @trephena
December 12, 2017 at 10:39 am #422668Hi trephena,
Thank you for providing help and guiding us. I am in a similar situation where I have requested my mentor to please refund me the deposit because I do not find his help appropriate and suitable. He rather finds my request funny by saying : good luck, take care while I am still explaining that I am not being helped. I have professional grounds to claim a refund and I believe that I am eligible for it as I never agreed to give up that right.
Please may I ask how to approach this mentor for refund as I certainly do not want to encourage such a business. What to do when the mentor is dodging the question of refund. There has to be some way to hold them accountable ?I do not wish to harm anyone’s reputation but how else do I explain to him that he is also fault and he cannot own that money. Probably not paying in advance would be wise but unfair, but what can be done now ..
Thank you for your help and hope to find a fair solution to this.
Best Regards,
