Agreed, really struggled with the time. I knew time was getting away from me, even though I planned and I couldn’t pull it back. I wonder about answering these type of exams under such time pressure. I think it’s a poor precedent. Surely in the profession we should promote diligence over haste, and the exams should try to reflect real like as far as they can. I’m not saying no time limit, but a reasonable one?
September 8, 2020 at 2:15 pm #584105This happened to me in March and then missed out because of Covid in June. Finally able to sit it yesterday, best of luck, we’ll all get there eventually 🙂
September 8, 2020 at 2:12 pm #584104No. I was annoyed with myself because I messed my timing up. I thought the content was ok but difficult to get through in the time available.

July 15, 2020 at 12:13 pm #576875Hi Kim, that’s great, thanks for the insight, it’s a relief to know and has helped me to decide to take the IRL variant. Thanks for your replies!
July 15, 2020 at 10:11 am #576866Hi Kim,
Many thanks for your reply. I’ve ready the above and I see what you mean. the UK and IRL is combined within the one document. While the syllabus document does not refer at all to the IRL exam, I understood previously that the legislation examinable would be different since the rep of Ireland is a different jurisdiction, for example, The companies act 2014? I was also hoping to take the IRL variant of SBR but again, obtaining study resources is proving difficult.

Similar issues at my exam in Dublin. I didn’t sit mine at all and was told to apply for a redund and sit it in June. Sure it’s not like we put a huge amount of time and effort into preparing for our exams…..

March 2, 2020 at 7:42 pm #563783My exam in Dublin was cancelled due to technical issues. Not impressed at all! I understand that issues arise but there was no contingency in place. We were told to apply for a refund and resit in June….another three months to wait now 🙁 Hope the exam went well for everybody that was able to sit it.

February 23, 2020 at 10:03 pm #562858Hey,
I sat F9 computer based, pros and cons. I felt my answers were better organised and didn’t have to worry about my poor handwriting, especially towards the end of the exam when I start to tire. I did find the constant noise of other people typing a distraction, though I’m fairly certain I suffer with “Misophonia” ? (I can’t tolerate the sound of people chewing). I would like to wear foam ear plugs in the exam and might check if this allowed. Getting used to the screens can be a but off putting so just be familiar with them before you sit the exam. Speaking of which, I’ve been trying the SBR specimen exam and find I can’t close the windows on the exhibits, very annoying. I’m sure you’ll be fine though, the screens are logical.
Best of luck anyway!February 23, 2020 at 9:59 pm #562857Hey,
Similar issues. I’m trying to do the SBR specimen (sitting SBR and AAA) and I can’t close the windows once I open them to view an exhibit, very poor. I did sit F9 on the computer with no specific CBE practice and passed, so try not to worry too much. It’s just a case of being familiar with the screens, your knowledge will get you through. Best of luck!

November 24, 2019 at 7:57 pm #553637Hi krjeffery,
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. That’s a great list to start with. I presume they’re making if more difficult to question spot (which I’m totally not trying to do :-p) Really helps to narrow it down a little bit. Best of luck with your exams!
November 23, 2019 at 6:54 pm #553546Thank you, this is incredibly kind! Well done on passing your SBR exam! 🙂
January 4, 2018 at 11:19 pm #427288I would definitely like a refresh on tax. Many thanks for your reply!
January 15, 2017 at 8:27 pm #366804I hate that the results are released on Sunday at midnight. I won’t be able to sleep and no time to digest them before work tomorrow 🙁 Good luck everyone!
