If it makes the people who didn’t pass feel better I failed this exam 5 times before – so I know the pain!
I passed it this time somehow..! But here are my tips
1) Past papers/exam questions as many as poss..this helped me remember the standards and techniques much better than reading them
2) Only use any BPP/Kaplan books for doing the small questions and reading around about how to do them – devote most of your time to practice answers
3) Get Student Guide to IFRS by Clare Finch – really good at giving you the foundation of P2Actually probably best to do these in reverse order
4) The exam I passed was the first time I sat the international paper rather than UK – found I could just concentrate on core subjects
Good luck!

July 17, 2016 at 2:17 pm #326153Part of me doesn’t want the resultss… rather just live in hope …the worst part is imagining doing it all again :”(
July 15, 2016 at 6:25 pm #326010Petus is also an anagram of…. S E T U P!!! We’re being set up comrades!!
July 15, 2016 at 6:19 pm #326008Yea links are silly, still kind of fun to look at… in a kind of dark, pain full way
So petus aka acca spy… what about the fact on this link in this forum that Khan gave… it has says “student” on the end of this.. doesn’t the infamous ‘link’ try to link to the affiliate page…
Getting paranoid now … think ACCA are watching me.. maybe this whole thing is run by ACCA staff all laughing their socks off…
Also why would Khan23 come on here and speak of link if he has already qualified??

These last 3/4 days before exams are very hard. The link theory, practice test from previous results sessions have created more panic to all, specially someone who has given their final
paper.Petus and khan23 is the link you mentioned the student one? Because I think you said you where able to see it in a previous session Petus (been researching)
Not sure if I want to be hang on to a tiny bit of hope or just be put out of my misery π
July 14, 2016 at 12:58 pm #325877Can anyone else – not get to pay for the practice tests.. I can get all the way until continue to confirm purchase . .. I could probably go further but I don’t actually want to buy a practice test..
This is so stupid..
July 14, 2016 at 12:27 pm #325870petus – no never had white/grey before – but not going to lok for the hidden pages thing as I think ACCA will be on to me!
Christine I have tried to do the jump 3 times and leg kicks and spin and everything – but I fell over.. I think I have a bruise forming on my left knee and it looks a bit like 47… anyone else getting this?
July 14, 2016 at 11:32 am #325860have you had the white/grey pages in previous attempts?
July 14, 2016 at 11:24 am #325857P2 – 6th time (I’m a P2 lifer) yep final – yep white/grey pages – not done PER – can access practice tests..
how about you?
July 14, 2016 at 11:05 am #325854same here petus – I really can’t possibly have passed – I literally didn’t write enough – and then thought at least I don’t get the agony of results day because I know how I did ..
But here I am agonising yet again..
Anyone else know whether the link (white/grey pages) is true? Can’t help but feel ACCA will see you look and then fail you for being naughty!
July 14, 2016 at 10:32 am #325850how do you get to the “practice tests”?
July 12, 2016 at 4:48 pm #325704lol – just got a non-reassuring from ACCA about booking next exam early – can’t stop speculating now
July 12, 2016 at 3:03 pm #325699cheers Kairong!
July 11, 2016 at 5:32 pm #325472yea – i put none of that .. slight optimism turns to utter despair! π
June 12, 2016 at 6:41 pm #322631Madpierro.. basically my thoughts exactly, practice papers went well at home but sitting in the exam read through scenarios 2 or 3 times, tried to answer then had to re-read..
Obviously at this level we aren’t going to be given simple 1 line questions.. but these exams are too much the other way… you pretty much have to find the questions yourself.
Also as always the model answers don’t really give us a do-able example of how to answer.
Anyone I know who passed this exam only ever got 50-52 even the passers struggle! Not that they care! ?
Could have so got 5 marks for the joint operation question but really thought there was some query I didn’t understand in the question, whereas my friend just wrote what the knew of how to account for joint arrangements.
Would have got me 35 instead of the predicted 30 yay! ?
June 9, 2016 at 3:58 pm #321505Just read Farai’s post
pretty much guessed reorganisation – and left the JO/JV question although I know how to account for both – couldn’t work it into answer
June 9, 2016 at 3:50 pm #321496Ah really rubbish – 6th time or something – lost count!
Thought I was doing the Kaplan study kit question pretty okay. Thought I the knowledge okay maybe about 75%. But the paper always leaves me stumped..
Struggle to know what the question wants and it’s hard to commit to writing about anything if you think the topic might be something else.Felt like I maybe should have explained the obvious a bit more.
Does anyone know what remember what all the question 2 sections were?
a) Reorganisation
b)??
c)??February 3, 2015 at 2:29 pm #225026okay changed mine to reflect my mood
February 3, 2015 at 2:07 pm #225023@seagoat – everytime I read your comments I imagine your that dog / it sums up how you feel .. lol
February 3, 2015 at 11:12 am #224975Did anyone else think Question 2 (b) was about provisions? I can see the financial instrument element now – but wrote loads on contingent liabilities π
February 2, 2015 at 8:24 pm #224897Loving the fact we are all in this boat together..
Question 1: 20+1+5 = 26
Question 2: 5+2+1+1 (no professional marks – v. unprofessional!) = 9 Totally got the wrong angle for this question – thought provisions actually fin. instruments
Question 4: 3+3+3 = 9 most on impairment? But really obscure about discuss impact or significance of indicators.. annoying – I could have wrote loads on indicators – but was not sure on what question was asking
Total = 26+9+9 = 44 – would be my best mark to date though – and this is me being optimistic!!!
5th time taken π
Cannot stop calculating it – was talking to a client today and just kept adding up marks in my head
February 2, 2015 at 8:15 pm #224896I’m not praying – just praying to cope with the disappointment – seriously all this log in white and grey pages can’t mean anything – your better off reading tea leaves .. having said that – I cant stop logging in here though – does anyone think ACCA is monitoring this?? (If you are Mr ACCA can you please pass me – because I knew so much more than put down in the exam and I’ll send you Β£5 in the post no worries)

i sat p2 in dec 2014.. i still can’t sleep… always calculating my marks in my head…and am like failure aint final…its better to try and fail than not trying at all….P2 is a mess …looking at the rate that i studied and i can’t even boast of a mark from q2…dammmmmmnnnThis is word for word how I feel – feel I actually like the subject but cannot translate my knowledge into the exam.. Question 2 I thought was all on provisions so was counting on a few marks there, but after looking at the ACCA answers again – it was financial instruments! Keep telling myself its only an exam – I’ll get it next time – lost count of the times I’ve done this one now π
Also is anyone else worried that they’ll be in trouble with ACCA from trying all these various links…?
