I’m 28 going on 29. I started ACCA at age 19.5sh. My circumstances are a bit peculiar & some advice support would be appreciated.
You see I got struck with blood cancer when I was 15.5sh.
I gave my GCSEs & Alevels & got straight As in them (I’d applied for special consideration regarding my circumstances which lead to me getting 60% extra time).
In ACCA I breezed (relatively) through the first 10 papers in 3 years. Now It’s been 4.5 years since & I’m stuck with the last paper the option P6.
In my ACCA exams I chose not to apply for special consideration as people/students had called me cheats in high school for asking Cambridge International Examinations Syndicate for extra time & I wanted to prove to those Btrds that I could very well do it own my own like any other normal student.
The dilema is I went from being a straight A getter to a guy who’d manage to do only 60-65/70 marks & scrape a pass. Now since last 4 or so years (8 years in ACCA total during which I’ve completed every other membership requirement) I’ve got 1 paper (P-6 UK) stuck & am constantly flunking between 46-49. The story is the same can manage to do only 65sh marks.
My friends who’ve qualified have told me to apply for extra time based on my medical condition (I still suffer from longterm treatment side effects realted to weak & painfull bones & muscles which is why I can’t complete the script).
My apprehension is that ACCA will throw any such application out no matter how genuine as they’ll say ”He did pass the other 13 without extra time didn’t he”.
I’m in a rut I want to get this over with but I can’t seem to.
So should I incase (God forbid) I go down this time apply for special consideration the next time & do you guys think ACCA will look at it sympatheticaly?
Note: for more about my conditions please google AVN as a result of ALL treatment.
    Thanks
btw I’ve seen older guys doing it so yes anyone can provided they have the will to go through. 🙂
