Passed 88% first attempt, it was my last exam so pleased to finish the journey!
I think what really matters with this exam is good exam technique and solid SBR knowledge. I sat SBR in Sept so my standards were fresh.
Don’t spend too much time reading the study materials, once you start practicing the questions you will notice the answers follow a pattern, especially the QA where you need to answer in form of briefing notes.I started my exam with QA (was most comfortable and practiced it a lot) and went straight into drafting the briefing notes format – all the standard paragraphs – introduction, materiality, then skimmed the exhibits and noted main audit risks, included the subheadings for last question and conclusion so I will not forget. Then worked through question picking up the easier risks first.
You need to be really strict with timing – I had left one risk but moved on as was already 1 hr 20 min on QA. There was a weird question regarding auditing standards in section B but just wrote what I could think of to give myself chance to score marks.Attempt every question if you can to maximise your chance to get marks.
In summary – study notes OT, exam kit (i used Kaplan) and free Practice to pass webinars from ACCA were really helpful (there are 4 lectures, each 3 hr long, free on youtube – really helpful explaining exam technique).

Passed with 71 on first attempt, now onto the Tax as last one of applied skills level, thank you open tuition!
