I just received my BS Degree certificate together with a letter, but the transcript is NOT in it. I wonder if anyone else has received transcript yet.

I’d like to take the poll.
May 26, 2015 at 3:45 pm #249222May 25, 2015 at 3:18 am #248717Has anyone use the OBU degree to apply for postgraduate studies? What kind of people can be the acadmic referees if you have self-studied the degree program?
April 9, 2015 at 4:32 am #240595I’m not sure how the appendices work.
1. I just cut the Financial Statements pages out of Annual Reports. They’re about 5 pages long for each company. Should I include the Notes pages as well, which are about 50 pages long for each company?
2. Can I use separate financial statement appendices for the two companies? eg. Appendix 1 for CompanyA and Appendix 2 for CompanyB.
3. And I will use Appendix 3 as formulas and calculations in an Excel spreadsheet. I wonder how many separate appendices can I upload? Or I just have to combine them as one.
Thanks.
April 9, 2015 at 3:22 am #240576I was using PESTEL and SWOT to analyse the company.
But my mentor told me to use Porter’s Five Forces and SWOT/PESTEL to do the analysis.
I wonder if Porter’s Five Forces is suitable for the analysis, as I saw that most students didn’t use it.
Thanks.
March 13, 2015 at 12:59 am #232195Thanks for helping me clarify things on my report.
I don’t know if there are any trade journals available for ACCA students to read.
Up to now, I’ve just completed Part I and II and used only technical journals.
I think trade journals will come in handy when doing Part III.
March 9, 2015 at 8:54 am #231769P.S. I subscribed to The Economist yesterday, but noticed that there are no authors indicated for its articles due to its anonymity policy. Then how can I cite its authors?
P.P.S. When citing BPP textbooks, there are 9 books published in the same year. I know I should write, for example, 2013a or 2013b in the in-text citation, but should I also do so in the reference list?
March 8, 2015 at 2:23 pm #2317161) If I am using annual reports for companies between 2011 and 2013, then should I use the latest news for the years 2014 and 2015? Or should I use the more relevant information between 2011 and 2013?
2) I’ve written out all the reference details for a printed book. Since the printed books and electronic books share all the same information, can I just provide the relevant details for corresponding printed books without a URL link?
March 8, 2015 at 2:23 am #231652I want very much to include as many sources as possible.
But the place where I live now does not have a library that has English academic books.
And many reputable electronic newspapers and magazines need subscriptions to gain access.
I need to know what else could I search for reliable information?
P.S. Even if I do subscribe to an online newspaper, such as The Economist, is the URL link I provide going to be visible to non-subscribers, such as RAP markers? If not, is it going to affect my results?
P.P.S. Most of the books I reference in my report are e-books in .pdf format. Do I have to provide a URL link? What if I don’t have a link or I forgot where I got it after such a long time?
March 6, 2015 at 1:20 pm #231491P.S. Can I quote directly from a dictionary the definition of primary data, for example?
Or should I have to find a definition from academic books?
Thanks.
March 6, 2015 at 1:17 pm #231490The difference between (1) and (2) mentioned above is the punctuation position:
(1) . (ABC Co., 2014)
(2) (ABC Co., 2014).Should the rounded bracket appear before or after the period punctuation?
March 5, 2015 at 2:35 am #231327PS. What tense should I use to paraphrase content from Annual Report and Online newspapers? As it has already happened, should I use past tense?
e.g. The company has/had net operating revenues of $1 billion as of 31 December, 2013.
Thanks.
March 5, 2015 at 2:20 am #231325I have four sentences paraphrased from Annual Report, as following structure:
Sentence 1…..
Sentence 2…..
Sentence 3…..
Sentence 4 …..Where should the in-text citation be put?
1) At the end of the paragraph, after the period? e.g. ABC Co. has market capital of $1 billion. (ABC Co., 2014)
2) At the end of the paragraph, before the period? e.g. ABC Co. has market capital of $1 billion (ABC Co., 2014).
3) At the end of each sentence? That would be awkward.Thanks.
February 28, 2015 at 1:00 pm #230765Thanks very much for your generous reply.
And I now know where to find the answers for Topic 8.
February 26, 2015 at 9:19 am #230281The ‘search’ function in this website proves to be futile.
No results found no matter what I typed in.
So I have to ask this question unaware of whether it has been answered before.
I googled for annual reports for several american companies, but their latest annual reports are for year 2013. Indeed, very few companies have the 2014 annual reports.
As to the choice of organisations, I have following questions:
1) What size of a company is easy to handle? I don’t want a company to be too large.
2) I prefer the co. and its comparator to be within the same country. Is that better than if they are in different countries?
PS. Can I use colors in the headings and graphs of my project paper? I saw in the information pack that it had to be black and white.
October 17, 2013 at 12:43 pm #142985Starting with closing inventory first.
Dr Inventory (Increase in Asset) SFP
Cr Closing Inventory (Decrease in Expense: decrease in cost of sales) SOCIAs to opening inventory, reverse the above. Because closing inventory in current accounting period is the opening inventory in the next accounting period.
