April 16, 2018 at 8:33 pm #447549Yes. I paid my 2018 subscription in Dec17. But i qualified in march and had to pay another 250 for 2018 subscription
April 16, 2018 at 8:31 pm #447548Yes but why you would want to do both is probably a more important question.
Regardless of the answer doing both is a complete waste of time
April 16, 2018 at 12:28 am #446915Sorry to hear. I was in a similar position. My manager just kept on coming up with excuses not to sign my be experience of. accaresults Only reason why she thought i was going to leave which i am!
– Set up an hour meeting with your manager to sign of experience?
– go above your manager and get your managers manager to sign of?
– get someone within the group to sign of if working in a sub?
– get an external acca member to sign off?
– worst case re-write experience to get an old manager from a previous company to sign off?March 27, 2018 at 11:48 pm #443951Getting external qualified accountant to sign off so long as they have a written audit trail confirming your manager agrees with all of your PER will be fine. Thats exactly what i did and now im a chartered accountant and signing off experience on behalf of colleagues
March 27, 2018 at 11:45 pm #443950Surprised the audiors refused assuming your manager put in writing they agree with the experience sign off
March 27, 2018 at 11:44 pm #443949“Most often, your practical experience supervisor will be your line manager or the person you report to on particular projects or activities.
Your supervisor does not need to be a qualified accountant to sign-off the time you have completed in a relevant role.
Therefore if your line manager is not qualified they can sign-off your time and you can choose a second, qualified practical experience supervisor who can work with your manager to sign-off your performance objectives. This second practical experience supervisor could be another manager within the organisation, a consultant or the organisation’s external accountants or auditors”
March 27, 2018 at 11:42 pm #443948“As per our conversation earlier, I would like to confirm that Performance objectives are required to be signed off by someone who is Qualified Accountant or IFAC registered.
If you are working in an organisation where there is no supervisor who is Qualified Accountant then performance objectives can be signed by someone from outside as well as long as they are Qualified Accountant.
It is very important that the person who is approving Performance objectives understands the nature of the job and both supervisor and External Accountant will agree on everything before signing off performance objectives”March 2, 2018 at 10:30 pm #439757There are 5 or so elements for each objective.
When writing an objective you have to only give examples of 2 elements only per objective. Of course your manager should be satisfied you meet all the elements but only need to give example of 2 in the writing section otherwise its impossible to fit in within 309 wordsFebruary 28, 2018 at 11:13 pm #439448If it was easy everyone would be ACCA qualified.
Giving up or switching to CIMA is taking the easy route.
Stick with it, your future self will thank you for it
February 28, 2018 at 10:29 pm #439443To give you my 2 cents ive recently completed my PER.
I struggled at first, spent half a day and got no where.
Remember you only need to give examples of 2 of the points in each section and not every point – otherwise impossible to fit within 300 words.
Also the best thing for me was to use a friends PER saved in word as a guideline to complete mine. Once i had his all of a sudden writing the experience became easy and i completed all 9 elements within 2 days.
