Failed and absolutely heartbroken. Its the second time I wrote this paper and I truly thought I would pass as I worked so hard this time around. This has left me wondering if I will ever pass ACCA and if all the sacrifice will ever be worth it.
I feel exactly the same. I felt I worked a hell of a lot harder this time around and even felt quietly confident walking out of the exam!
Best we can do is stick at it, knuckle down and beat it once and for all!
July 15, 2019 at 12:24 am #523239Failed. Absolutely gutted as I felt much better about this one than the last exam and got a worse mark!
Still pretty angry about the last question as I feel robbed of a pass. If it was just written clearer or the question worded better then wouldn’t have minded so much but to miss out on 12 marks (I think it was), just a few there could’ve helped me get over the line. Furious.

Did anyone recommend additional rewards on question 2, such as rewards linked to competitiveness, flexibility etc?Did people use the service characteristics as headings on 2a or the measurement problems? Found myself switching between the two
Need a miracle as i got 0 on 3b :/
Yes I recommended alternative reward criteria (mostly tweaking what was already there). eg, their average was 10%for the failures in quality, so reducing this to say 8% would be better as it should improve quality rather than maintain it.
I also used the characteristics as the headings for each and commented on the +ve and -ve for each

What did everyone get for the budget variance in Q3? I had 1,875 and struggled to explain it lol basically said the number of items same as budget but 100 less receipts but struggled to articulate the effect that had!I thought Q2 was the disaster question personally!
I had something similar for the variance to start on part a, although when I came to do part b I had a different figure! About $22,750 if I recall?
3b was an absolute nightmare. I couldn’t work out how many “taggers” there were so ended up doing 1.2m receipts / 35,000 a month would be 2.86, so need at least 3 to cope with volumes. So $24,000 x 3 for the year?

Hi! Can anyone recommend me a provider of courses? I already gave P4 2 times and December was quite a disaster (I don’t expect getting more than 30 points although I was studying since June approximately 3 hours/day). I really need a support to pass this exam. Thank you for all your recommendations.Roxana – I use Kaplan live online. They are quite good but it can be expensive, as the live online only covers 6-8 sessions, then you need to pay for revision sessions on top. But they basically go over past exams and exam techniques so you can get away without paying this and doing it yourself.
December 11, 2017 at 10:25 am #422510First attempt at this paper and was for sure the hardest to date. Ran out of time, there’s way to many calculations for you to work out then be expected to write essays about too.
Bit disheartening to seemingly be the only one I can see getting a negative NPV on Q2, although surprised how many didn’t know about the Monte Carlo simulation.
Thought Q3 was quite generous, work out some ratios and trends and comment on missing info that would be beneficial. I mentioned about having no competitor info to benchmark as the main missing info.
All in all, not expecting great things!
