August 28, 2018 at 3:27 pm #469859I mean “drop GNP” and say why I dropped it in my limitations?
August 28, 2018 at 3:25 pm #469858My profitability ratios are Net profit margin, return on sales, return on capital employed and gross profit margin, since I’m having a hard time getting a correct figure for gross profit margin, should I make do with the three other ratios and GNP and record this in my limitations?
August 28, 2018 at 3:21 pm #469856Hello Trephena, I have still not been able to make a reasonable assumptions on what my company’s cost of sales/ direct production cost figure is because for instance in the income statement an item of cost that is not a direct cost is added to other direct cost and given one figure making it difficult to ascertain the exact cost of the non direct cost item.
Labour, materials and admin cost – $7.66b. Now where the exact value of admin is not given even in the notes, how do I get around this?August 27, 2018 at 9:29 am #469610Gross profit
Please how do I calculate the gross profit of my company, this figure is not given.
The revenue is 40 030b , and I am supposed to take out the “cost of sold products”. But there isn’t any. Does that mean that the Gross profit is indeed 40.030b ?August 21, 2018 at 1:53 am #468664Hello Trephena, what if the securities regulator was named?
August 20, 2018 at 5:02 pm #468638Alright thanks.

August 20, 2018 at 9:49 am #468600I have an online article, it says “China will introduce foreign investors to trade in domestic iron ore futures from May 4, according to the country’s securities regulator.”
How do I reference this please,is it (author of the article, date) or (Securities regulator, date)
I’m confused on which designator and source material to use.August 19, 2018 at 9:01 pm #468552Hello please what about an online article where another person was quoted in. Do I use the name of the original person that was quoted in the article or the author of the article? For instance
An article written by Mr ABC in 2017 has a statement that was made by Mr XYZ. Do I write (ABC, 2017) or (XYZ, 2017)?August 19, 2018 at 6:18 pm #468542That’s assuming I want to reference that statement

August 19, 2018 at 11:43 am #468484Please I’m confused on how to reference this site. https://www.reuters.com/article/rio-tinto-copper/focus-rio-tinto-ready-to-splash-out-on-copper-idUSL8N1TS0ZG

August 11, 2018 at 10:28 am #467344Okay great, thank you so much
August 10, 2018 at 11:07 am #467178Thanks very much ma. That will help, but one more thing, I’m not sure about how to go about drawing a connection between my financial analysis and business analysis. Do I just write for example when doing Sales analysis “as mentioned in my analysis of the SWOT of ABC with regards to its strengths (Largest producer of xxx in the world) the reason behind the increase in sales revenue of ABC plc over the three years in review is because ABC plc has been the world’s largest producer of xxx product in the last 5 years which accounts for 90% of its total revenue.”
Is this acceptable please?August 10, 2018 at 12:08 am #467140Hello when making comparisons to my comparator do I limit the comparison to just profitability ratios? Or do I also need to compare my SWOT/PEST to that of my comparator too.
Furthermore when doing investor analysis do I also need to make comparisons here to.
In a nutshell, what are the areas I need to make comparisons with my comparator company?August 6, 2018 at 1:11 pm #466417Alright thank you
August 4, 2018 at 7:03 pm #465954Yes, that is settled, but another issue – I confused on how to reference a list of items. For instance I want to describe the limitations of SWOT analysis from one author using bullet points. How do I do that?
Do I reference each of the bullet points? Or I should write one reference for the whole points?Limitations of SWOT analysis
– When conducting a SWOT analysis, managers categorize various factors that affect a business as strengths, weaknesses, opportunities or threats. (Hamal, n.d)
– SWOT analysis relies entirely upon ideas generated by the managers participating the in the analysis. (Hamal, n.d)
-SWOT analyses don’t provide a useful framework for finding solutions to problems. (Hamal, n.d)
Or like this?
– When conducting a SWOT analysis, managers categorize various factors that affect a business as strengths, weaknesses, opportunities or threats.
– SWOT analysis relies entirely upon ideas generated by the managers participating the in the analysis.
-SWOT analyses don’t provide a useful framework for finding solutions to problems. (Hamal, n.d)
