I can understand your frustration at the exam that took so much of your time and efforts. Funny as it may seem, but I went through an identical scenario with three papers – P1, P3 and P5. The material they all covered seemed so likeable and simple, yet I could not pass any of them at first attempt. And every time I was getting angry enough to resit without any revision or additional study. And it did work for all of these papers! At the resittings I could hardly remember the recommended analytical models, so I was just writing in a carefree manner whatever was popping up in my head. These are funny exams, really.. Thank God I am an affiliate now..!

What a fantastic achievement to get 10 papers done in 13 months – well done rexon1994It’s so hard to believe in this.. Seems like a completely unrealistic achievement… How much time can you devote to each subject is you pass 10 exams within 13 months? 1.3 months? Is that enought even to read the study book, let alone revise anything? I think someone is just exaggerating..
October 17, 2017 at 4:26 pm #412164Passed with 57% at second attempt!!!! Wow!! I’m free now! That was my last paper!!! Still cannot believe it. It’s such a relief, honestly! Spend nearly 7 years on all the papers…
Might seem funny, but I improved my score by 20 marks without any additional study efforts at all! I spend only 1 day revising the material before the second sitting.. The professional exams are just such a lottery..
July 17, 2017 at 10:26 am #396961Failed with 38 marks only… Totally nonplussed, to be honest, as the paper did not even seem difficult. Question 1 looked rather like a typical question from the Revisions book… It really is hard to understand what exactly to improve in my answers…
January 23, 2017 at 11:11 am #36896554 at my forth attempt!!!
I am so happy to be through with this paper, yet it was probably the most interesting one for me after P2.
Guys, do not believe those who speak about perseverance, the key thing is to finally understand the examiner’s requirements and expectations.January 23, 2017 at 10:51 am #368955P4 is probably the most difficult paper of all, P2 is just a puzzle for kids in comparison..
As for P5, I am studying it right now and the material seems very simple. Yet the pass rate is one of the lowest, so the exam itself must be really tricky.
The optional papers are nothing straightforward, so do not expect them to be easier than P2 for sure.January 23, 2017 at 10:44 am #368949Adam23, do not get too frustrated about this failure. Your success is rather obvious, I mean going from 40 to 49.
I managed to pass only on my forth attempt. And honestly, I do not think I showed more knowledge, I just changed the approach to how I give answers. For me the trick was to focus on the descriptions and stop caring about calculations so much.
And I also was just crasy about failing the third time as I thought I coped perfectly..) It is just a rather crasy paper. You cannot do it all, so you need to guess what the examiner prefers to see.December 23, 2016 at 12:34 pm #364312I meant to say that Kaplan study books only give the most important things PLUS contain links to other online material which you also have to read if you do not want to miss anything.
The volume of the material to study is just huge, so the providers probably did not dare fitting it into one book.December 23, 2016 at 12:29 pm #364311Too many things are missing from Kaplan, thought it’s easier to read than BPP.
December 23, 2016 at 12:26 pm #364310I agree that P4 is extremely difficult. Given the time limitations, it really is a challenge to provide an acceptable mix of calculations and text. I have failed 3 times already with 44-46 marks, though P9 was not a problem for me at all. P2 is hundreds of times easier.
Right now I am going through P5 study material which seems… just too simple. Which means the exam is going to be tricky, seeing the lowest pass rates.October 17, 2016 at 11:41 am #344201It’s absolutely the same thing with me! Seems like it is the wrong approach, not the lack of knowledge.. Or the wrong way to give explanations and comments.. It really is frustrating..

October 17, 2016 at 11:10 am #344163Failed with 43. That was my third attempt, each time I’m getting almost the same score.. I think I just need to try a different paper… Quite disappointing as I really enjoyed the subject.. In any case, the study was very useful..
August 11, 2016 at 4:11 pm #332731I passed both P1 and P3 at second attempt with videos only.
I bought Becker’s study materials but just could not drag myself through the text, so EXTREMELY boring it was..
By the way, I did not revise the materials between the exams. Kept forgetting the stuff for 6 months only to find my knowledge ‘to improve’. Funny..August 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm #332730I’m quite sure that ACCA don’t care.. As a confirmation to that they even stopped publishing past exam answers after the introduction of the new exams timeschedule. It really is completely unfair.
I think I’m just ready to give up on P4. 46% with my latest attempt… - AuthorPosts
