Yes, that is good advice. I failed p5 and p7 many times. Last June I passed p5 which was my weakest paper .I always come close to passing p7 but still failed this time with a much lower mark and a high mark in p5.Learn your models, read a markers prospective article and make sure you understand the verbs used. These are key to passing. Time management is also crucial. Practice lots of pass papers over and over. Don’t ever give up.

January 27, 2015 at 11:18 pm #224024I have been seeing CAT info. i.e FA1, MA1 etc under section B Examination status, at times and Professional papers info. other times. Does that mean that they are loading the results in blocks. However, my old results from my last two papers i sat and fail is still at the top in section A from last year June.

August 11, 2014 at 6:20 pm #189470I received this letter today from ACCA in response to my complaint posted previously.I still don’t buy it as they will say anything for comfort.
Thank you for your email which was sent for the attention of the ACCA Complaints department.
I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your June 2014 exam results.
It is not the intention of ACCA to fail our students, we want our students to progress into becoming ACCA Members and hold ACCA Membership until retirement. Exam papers are drafted and then reviewed by an Assessor whose job it is to ensure that the questions are relevant to the syllabus and that the paper is fair and balanced throughout. The Assessor also ensures that the suggested answers and marking schemes are suitable for publication.
All scripts are very carefully marked. Marginal scripts receive even greater scrutiny than the clear passes or fails.
Anyone with a mark in the high forties has their script looked at very carefully by the marker who originally awarded this mark to see if there are any other marks that could be awarded and if there are, adjustments are made.
All of these marginal scripts are also reviewed by the examiner to see if there is any justification for any further marks, which the marker was unable to find, to be awarded. All scripts are also checked by a team of checkers to ensure that no tallying errors have been made either within individual questions or parts of questions or in total.
Finally ACCA coordinators acting as examination auditors will also look at a sample of marginal scripts for each exam to ensure that the correct mark has been given in each case.
Therefore, someone who has received a mark of say 47%, 48% or 49% can be very sure that their mark is correct and that no more marks were available.
As ACCA uses the full scale of 0-100% in its marking schemes, it is inevitable that some candidates will have a mark which falls just short of the 50%. While this is frustrating for those involved, the candidate can be at least confident that with a little more work, a clearer understanding and using a better technique will be enough to get them through the resit exam.May I remind you that when you contact ACCA you are communicating with a professional body and this should be reflected in the tone and wording of your correspondence.
Kind regards,
August 10, 2014 at 5:15 pm #189195Please let us all join forces to deal with the issue of poor treatment by ACCA and their lack of care for students. I know many of you may agree with me and others will disagree, but the botton line is that we are not treated fairly.
I must say that i feel very, very “BITTER” with ACCA and their marking team. If they claimed that answers are subjective. I recently sent them a letter of complaint and I really don’t want to hear their standard pass word about “FAIR MARKING PROCESS” this is more or less used like a “TATOO”. ACCA don’t know or even care how we feel. We feel emotionally, physically, spiritually and mentally defeated. Does ACCA really care about us at all? I don’t think so. The more we fail, the more money for the institution, thats how i feel. I have always felt that way and i want ACCA to help us “STUDENTS” to stop thinking that way. That is why lots of my friends left to pursue their studies in other institutions and have already finished ages ago, but here i am struggling. I feel enslaved by this institution. We are treated as “CASH COWS”Now, i wrote P7 and was “GIVEN” 46 marks out of 100, also P5 and was given 43 out of 100. I was expecting to clear my final papers or pass at least P7. ACCA should be proud of some one like me who does mainly “SELF STUDIES”, i am really trying. I know i better managed my time this sitting than any other sitting i can recall. I spent weeks of sleepless nights. My wife complained, i lost weight channeling all my energies into these two final papers. I practiced, practiced and practiced to get all failed result fomr ACCA. This time around, in an effort to finish my studies, I paid for on line tuition. It cost me way over two thousand plus dollars. I made the sacrifice like every one else to pass my exams, but my end result was “FAIL and FAIL”. Out of 12 persons that wrote the P5 exam here in my country, only one person pass P7 and this is her fourth or fifth attempt. For the P5 every one failed. One of my friend already wrote this paper approx. ten times and that’s her only paper and still did not pass. What is going on with these people, We feel robbed of our pride and have no one to turn to. Why do we have to pay for expensive ADMIN. REVIEW any I now believe what most students on the online forum has been saying. ACCA has a “FAIL RATE” to maintain. We the students are not stupid and we are getting wiser each and every day. If this treatment continues this organization will fail in years to come, as people will get to realize that we are being “RIPPED OFF”. I looked back at two P3 exams that i failed in succession in the past with the same marks of 32. This clearly tells me that once you fall within certain band or scale then you will just be given a mark similar to others within that category. ACCA gave me 46 in P7 “Close to a pass”. They brought me on a height and left me hanging like a “LOOSE CANNON”.As if to say “BOY U CAME VERY CLOSE” try harder next time. Please don’t treat us that way. I know i wrote a good paper this time around. Last sitting i got 31 marks in P7. How often does ACCA have to fail me before granting me a pass. I know i deserve a pass in at least P7 this time around. I also made a fair attempt at P5. There seem to be no mercy for “POOR PEOPLE CHILDREN” when it come to ACCA exams. Another observation is that i don’t usually get in the forties in my past exams. If i write a bad exam i usually get in the thirties, other than that i pass my exams. My past failures were due to time management. I know i managed my time better this sitting than any other time. I an thinking about quitting as i really don’t have the energy to continue fighting ACCA. Many students are realizing that it is all about money and are dropping out to pursue other courses. Those who want to start will say that they hear it all about money making. How can i convince them that is not the case. In the past i used to encourage lots of young people to do ACCA. I don’t do this any more. In fact, I don’t even mention ACCA any more.
The honest truth i really felt “RIPPED OFF”, I realy don’t care how you respond to my e-mail. If it is bad, it may just be a plus for me. I don’t feel loved by ACCA at all. Th system is there to “SQUEEZE US” until they are satisfied that enough money is obtained from each student until they are ready to give a pass. What about my hard work ,hard earned money and sacrifices to prepare for exams, only to be greeted with an e-mail to say you have failed your exams. ACCA makes people feel like they are “DULL”. we know i deserve better than that. The only positive answer that i am expecting from ACCA is convincing support and encouragement that will help us”MUSTER INTERNAL STRENGTH” to continue with our studies. I don’t know where to start of if i will continue at all as i am yet to see the fruits of my labour. To long we are taking our death like”SHEEP”. On two separate occasions i had to repeat two courses P3 and F7. I sent ACCA two very Harsh e-mails like this and the following sitting they give me a pass of a mere 50%. What does that tell you. I f we sit back and say nothing they will continue to “MILK US ALL”, those of you who are lucky need to count your blessings. Every one of you out there who think you did a good paper and deserve a better grade you need to send as much complaint as possible, why? because you are not satisfied. Lets go as far as possible. Don’t be afraid, it is your rights to speak up so that the whole world will know what is going on. Where is the transparency,”EH”. We need answers. The only way we can get it is to join forces. Open your mouth people and let your “VOICES BE HEARD” if that is the best you can do. If at least fifteen (15) persons voice their complaints, then this will give then a wake up call. Please note that i very honest about the letters i sent in the past and i recently sent another one. We all need answers. I urge you, do not labor in vein.

August 3, 2014 at 3:42 pm #180615you are probably right, although i checked another e-mail when i wrote P3 and saw the same thing and pass. i will have to check a failed exam to compare.

August 3, 2014 at 3:10 am #180570It is from the finalist notification letter ACCA sent u. Look at the note above the letter which says “PRINTABLE VERSION” and click until t opens. Then tell me what u see.
August 3, 2014 at 3:07 am #180569The letter ACCA sent U about the inclusion of your name if u pass your finals. Look at the top where it says printable version. you will see the scrabmled letter i,e from who to who, signature etc. It is right there. I believe that is the hint every one is looking for. The notation is attached to this letter via the data base. I did two papers and saw “ACCA domain pass=ok twice. Check it out and give feed back, keep it on the low. You can inbox me privately to tell me what u saw.I hope thats the clue.
August 3, 2014 at 12:23 am #180564Hey! Those of you that received the finalist letter can check to see if u see pass by clicking the note above the letter that says printable version. I just checked mine and saw PASS =OK. I hope that means something. Please check and give a feed back as soon as possible. Note it is somewhat scrambled. I am getting very anxious. Please don,t broadcast it as ACCA might be watching. It reads as follows “domainkeys=pass (ok); from=acca-update.com” What u guys think.
My previous exam results has the date at 28 July 2014.

December 9, 2013 at 8:28 pm #151907Please guys, lets stop arguing for petty stuff. Its another day. Just carry on and go with the flow
December 7, 2013 at 10:57 pm #151569I agree with keyboard, not with the attitude as i think we should control our temper. However, we have to give Jack his jacket. Finishing the papers is not the end of the journey as we have to gain experience also. As PQs we should not have to suffer the torture and the turmoil, as if to say fail until we decide to give you a pass. There are a lot of students out there that know their stuff, but due to time constraint we are not given a fair chance to pass. Every one is different and cannot cope under the same circumstances. It is costly and time consuming for us to waste all our effort on a paper that we will eventually keep failing.
I did the paper P7 for the first time this sitting. It was fair in content, but trust me only an experience person could really complete the entire paper within the time allotted. We need to demand more time for our investment. At least an extra half hour should be enough to have some decent passes, but LISA wants to prove that she is the best examiner for ACCA. That is “CRAP” give people what they deserve. If there is fear that the market will be flooded then a lot of us need to reconsider and seek another profession instead of wasting time and money on ACCA. In fact i lodge a complaint also about the allotted time for this paper. Just imagine F8 (level 2) papers getting three (3) hours and we at a higher level getting the same 3 hours. Does that make any logical sense. think about it yourself
In addition we need to demand an earlier result period as we know they can do it. Lets say January .That is my contributionDecember 6, 2013 at 2:07 pm #151077Hello All,
I had made a formal complaint to ACCA concerning the P7 exam. I must admit that the paper was a fair one, however they are not giving us sufficient time. We need an additional half hour to at least secure a pass. See the reply sent from ACCA below. I am appealing to every one who wrote this exam to send a complaint at students@ accaglobal.com as this will be considered in the marking process. Guys we need to all clear this paperand remember majority rule. Lets support each other.
In setting an exam, ACCA undertake a large number of quality assurance
processes to ensure the paper is fair in all respects. The exam paper
is completed by a number of people throughout the process, including the
final exam version being taken under full exam conditions to ensure
timing is appropriate. If students do feel an exam has been unfair in any aspect, then it is
important that the student completes the post exam feedback as that is
one of many factors that we use in determining results.October 1, 2013 at 7:09 pm #141831Hello
I have passed P2 with first attempt on self study. I Practice lots of questions and parts of questions. I studied the IASs and focus on the key areas. I always had my the IASs handy when ever i have to attempt a question. I was also privilaged to get access to LSBF videos which helped me a lot. Martin Jones is good. If you can get the the lSBF lecture notes on ACCA reloaded along with the videos. You will surely pass. just practice, practice and practice while reading over the IASs as often as you can.
September 15, 2013 at 12:37 am #140487I studied P2 on my own and passed first time. My advice is to practice lots of questions over and over especially those key areas and learn your IASs and IFRSs. The key is question practice. Dont get boggeg downor scared by the size of the text book. I had a BPP text book and never bother to open it. I just used the LSBF videos that i got online. If you can lay your hands on the video. They will surely help.
September 15, 2013 at 12:21 am #140485Hi, I am lookong for LSBF P6 Lecture notes, I am willing to exchange for P7 or any other that you may request. E-mail me at elvisfredrick@yahoo.com or efrederick@thecommunalcu.com
