The SBR remotely held CBE exam was a disaster. It took more than an hour to connect to Onvue after which it took more than 20 minutes to check credentials and photos. This added to stress which was multiplied by the exam format with several windows to be opened on a laptop, which couldn’t be resized to fit the laptop making it difficult to read without closing and opening them several times and toggling between the windows. Further, to worsen the situation, the tab key did not work in the word processor to input figures at a distance. Had to use the space key multiple times to input the figures in an orderly fashion. All this took considerable amount of time and ultimately resulted in insufficient time to complete the exam. As a result, I didn’t have time to answer the 2nd question of the B Section.
ACCA should have checked the word processor and should have considered extending the exam time knowing that the students would neither be having a paper based exam nor a sufficiently large screen to fit all windows so as to enable read and write at the same time.
April 13, 2020 at 6:12 am #567701Failed. First failure of my ACCA Exams. The paper went well. Answered all questions. Can’t figure out where did I go wrong!! Or was it because I didn’t complete my Ethics and Professional exam before attempting SBL exam??

How was your FR exam? Please post your comments below, and vote in the Instant PollThe exam was OK but as said by many students the time wasn’t sufficient to complete the two C section question no. 31 & 32. Further Qst no. 31 was to be answered in word format and it wasn’t user friendly. The tab key didn’t work to key in the values, and so had to use space bar which took lot of time. Also, while editing, it overwrote the earlier sentences without being able to add in new words and therefore had to rewrite the entire sentences etc for analysis in question 31. The table columns too couldn’t be dragged to widen or shorten each column. This created shortage of time to complete the 32nd question. Hope ACCA makes the work and excel more user friendly for the CBE exams.

March 6, 2019 at 8:37 am #507940The paper was tricky in few places but wasn’t tough if one had studied all the chapters and practiced the problems as much as possible. Open Tuition and BPP Revision & Practice Kits are an excellent source of tuition and revision. Hope to pass 🙂
January 14, 2019 at 12:36 pm #501743Passed. It was a tough paper. Thanks a lot to Open Tuition and ACCA Global for providing all the assistance to the Students to pass the exam.

December 6, 2018 at 5:14 am #487812The Theatre Box too was confusing. How do your get the Breakeven and Margin of Safety only for the Theatre Box. The fixed costs were for the entire event and not only for the Theatre Box. So it was difficult to calculate the FC, BE and MoS for the Theatre Box.
Even the minimax regret question was confusing.
December 6, 2018 at 5:12 am #487811The exam was really hard. The questions were very lengthy with much more calculation which had an effect on time for completion. In Sec C, for budget preparation, what figures were to be considered – Demand, Capacity or the Therapists time for patients?
