Hi there
The ACCA recommends that you do not sit P7 until you are successful with exams F7 and P2. This is mainly because you have to have a thorough understanding of the Accounting Standards and IFRS before attempting P7.
However, I did the P7 option paper even before I sat F7 or P2 so it is definitely do-able ( I am not overly clever either!) You need to familiarise yourself with the standards first as there is no point in attempting P7 if you do not know your standards. My knowledge of the standards was brief as I hadn’t done F7 or P2 but I did some revision on the standards while revising for P7 so I got the gist of the main standards)
P5 and P7 are not interlinked as far as I remember. I would recommend doing P5 first as it does not follow on from P2. There are very few numbers involved- it is a lot of writing and a lot of analysis which I found rather enjoyable as I felt it related more to the real world.
From my personal experience, I would recommend that you sit P5 first in December. Then attempt P2 and finally, P7. In my opinion, P2 is the hardest of them all.
Hope this helps!

I’ve downloaded the new lecture notes for F7 Sep/Dec sitting but the lectures don’t correspond with these notes. Does anyone have the link to the notes that the lectures correspond with?
Thanks!
