Thank you. I can’t even begin to explain how frustrated I got with myself. And with it being the first calc, thereby underpinning the rest of the calcs and therefore a lot of the report and advice as well, it just really threw me.
In an exam situation, if I have another brain melt with what is essentially algebra, what do you recommend?
Clearly without the CoC to apply for further analysis, the resultant advice will be incorrect most likely. But is it better to put a note at the point I got stuck, chose a CoC to use in the later calculations and just hope for the best? Would I at least get some marks for correct application of technique in the rest of the question, which is better than nothing?!?

Really appreciate the quick reply. I knew that I knew (somewhere deep in my brain), if that makes sense, but I was also confusing myself. MA was a long time ago, really appreciate the direction to the original lecture for revision as well.
Best wishes
Laura
November 14, 2021 at 4:10 pm #640632Thanks John, really appreciate your response. I’ve not got that far yet, I’ll have a look ahead and see what you’ve put up.
Also, just to say thanks for all your help over the years I’ve been studying. While I’m very lucky that my employer has paid for Kaplan or BPP tuition, I can honestly say there are some exams I’ve only passed thanks to your lectures, which have explained what’s needed in a way I can understand and remember. I think AFM will be one of them!
I used to think that in gaining qualification I’d learn how to be a good accountant. Now I feel it’s more like my drivers licence. First learn how to pass the exam and then learn the rest later!
