    It is intereing of £600 on maturity of Saving certificate from National Saving and Investment during the 2010/11.

    that is I through too, but the answer show£2200 x1/2. in this case this should been£1600×1/2. as Saving certificate is exempt

    ok, My question is: if taxable income is £20,000, why is £17,400 at18%? How to get £17400 would be at 18%?

    E.g £40,000 how much in 18% ?

    when calculate CGT in the basic band rate £37,400 take cenrtain amount the balance at 18%, then the remaing at 28%.

    CGT (37400-X) at 18%
    X-37400 at 28%

    Could you explain how do I know take which amount from the basic band rate? is there any rule can apply it?

    opentuition notes chapter 1 example one answer, only for the cost per manchine hour is 55,000/94,000=0.585
    I don’t understand where get this 94,000? can you explain how to get?

    From the Article ACT 2009 shown individuals loss relief
    (samanthas case) carry back 12 months against total income which is trading income plus other income. carry extended relief further 24 months but limit£50,000. only against trading income but not including other income.

    However, the Loser Ltds loss relief carry back and against total income.

    So, my question is for individual will only consider carry back for first 12 months in total income, but when carry back extened further 24 months will only consider for trading income?
