I too think this was an unfair exam. I hsve done loads of past papers and not one I have done was anything like how they set up question one. I then felt the rest of the exam was very bitty. Even the ethics question didn’t seem to floe how past exam papers have. Not helped by technical issues throughout the exam (I did remote) this one will be a fail for me, very frustrating as I only have the strategic exams to go and I’ve passed the others first time 🙁
May 30, 2022 at 8:10 pm #656906HI, id be interested in peoples views too. I have done the ACCA course with only foundation exemptions due to AAT qualification. I have gone through them all passing each one first time (although never very high scores). I have SBR and SBL left and am taking my SBR next month. I am really struggling with this one, im nowhere near a pass mark yet. Im really struggling to retain all the information needed.
December 7, 2021 at 8:06 pm #642981Thats kind of what i did but in a very vague fashion. And forgetting the overlap profits

I think I was just loosing the plot slightly
December 7, 2021 at 6:08 pm #642942I ignored the cash completely within the cgt iht question as just thought cash is exempt from cgt but didn’t think it through for nrb :(.
Oh and annoyingly didn’t even make a remark about cash being exempt for cgt
December 7, 2021 at 6:07 pm #642941I thought the 35 mark was a tough one and threw me straight away so I did it last!
I cant remember what question, may have been the 35 marker but there were a few years trading profits…..I didnt even use them as couldn’t work out what they wanted from me with them! The 16 month period question i thought I did ok on.
Again cant remember what question but completely forgot to include the overlap profits.
I felt the uk resident type question was a fair question and straight forward so fingers crossed for good marks there.
I always find the exam a complete blur once I come out
June 7, 2021 at 7:32 pm #623748I thought that calculation was quite tricky. So moved on. I went back to it at the end and managed to get a calculation that matched an answer think I answered the top one for that
June 7, 2021 at 6:42 pm #623738Thought the multiple choice questions were tricky at the start.
Finished with a little time to spare.
Think I fell down a bit on the audit strategy and audit planning question and the final one regarding the legal issue and the implications to the audit report, other than that not to bad and hopefully enough to scrape the pass.December 23, 2020 at 11:20 am #600645I rang ACCA on Monday and they said that they had received my exam, since then when i go to book my exam area my December exam now says waiting for results, such a relief now just got to hope i passed, i only took 2 hours which im now worried about but at the time i felt i had done as much as needed!
December 18, 2020 at 6:40 pm #600257My exam that I took this week still says booked on the book exam page and my exam record doesn’t say its pending or anything. No idea whether my exam is submitted or not and nobody from acca has contacted me after I emailed

We’ll arrange for another exam free of charge, don’t worry” something like this and then in the pop up notification they also mentioned a link to go through from my phone. As soon as I started typing out the link, the notification went away and my exam started automatically. There was no proctor person, no chat box, no audio/video check going on during the exam. I didn’t know what to do, I did email them for the same through the contact us for remote exams. But I don’t know if I was supposed to carry on with the exam/not. I did the exam and submitted. It affected a lot, my mind was wandering due to this issue. Any idea what will happen? Will my exam be accepted?
I had the exact same issue on my tax exam yesterday.
I just went through the exam like normal and submitted it, really hope its accepted. It allowed me to end the exam and submit then the survey come up so fingers crossed.
Exam went well so ill be super annoyed if it doesn’t get accepted
December 15, 2020 at 8:33 pm #600087Hi all
Did anyone take their TX paper today as a remotely invigilated exam?
I took mine but I’m worried whether it submitted….sorry long post coming up
I did all the checks to start and took my photos then was on the screen where it said that they were doing their checks and the exam would start within 15 minutes….then the screen changed and said there was a problem and I would have to re book but then within another 30 seconds the exam loaded. I realised while doing the exam there was no invigilator chat box and my webcam light was off.
I went through the exam and went through the normal exit exam etc at the end and now on my acca it still allows me to launch the exam but when I press it it says check in closed buy shows the time I finished my exam and that it has been taken.
I’m now worried it won’t be accepted, not least because I actually think I did ok!!
Any others have these issues?
