Passed 64% and now affiliate member! So happy! Was convinced of a fail mark so I’m gobsmacked!
Can’t say I’m surprised to fail again. I feel like I’ve met my match with this exam. I hadn’t failed any other ACCA exam until I hit AFM with only this and SBL left.
I don’t know why I’m struggling so much! I really think it’s the hedging part which I completely messed up both times. I got 47% and 44% and know if I’d nailed those I think I can pass! So close but not enough! 🙁Did anyone else get completely confused in question 1? And why did it repeat nearly 3 times the debt and equity values of Matravers? It was written so many times!
I got very confused by the wording of the report questions for question 1 too, I just couldn’t grasp what they were asking numerous times??? I just really hope to get marks on the other two?I got 9.7% as the WACC for question 1, what did anyone else get??
question 3 really threw me off.
Thought question 2 was okay, hopefully picked up lots of marks there. Question 1 I don’t think was hard, I just couldn’t remember and I’m so annoyed at myself! Hopefully done okay on the interest part but the hedging bit the for payment, know I screwed up.Think I’ll be resitting March 🙁
I had so many IHT questions in Section A and B it’s not funny! There were at least 4 in Section A and a whole Section B question it! Why do they examine the same things over and over? Hardly a broad exam based on the scope of the syllabus!
I thought the MCQs were difficult! Spent a while on section C and then had still 18 questions to answer with only an hour to go!
Also, there was one MCQ about group losses – someone help me out!
The question was a drag and drop to where the losses should be offset to which companies. The question read something along the lines of “how much should be offset to company A ORRRR company B” So I put one value against one of the companies but it kept flagging the question as incomplete? So I just put another number in the other company as well for the sake of it, made no sense to me!Reading these comments making me feel uneasy. I just got so confused doing the NPV question and wrote lots of workings and hope to pick something up somewhere. MCQ’s, guessed quite a few but a few nice ones in there. I completely flopped the WACC, I couldn’t think! Not looking forward to results now 🙁
