Hi B4BRIAN, I passed exam only with kaplan text and exam kit. This is more than enough material. Yes, sometimes it is not easy to understand first time, but read as many times until you understand particular concept. And make your own notes.
This is my strategy which helps pass all exams firat time.July 18, 2022 at 9:06 am #661021My strategy for studying all exams is following.
1.I cover all text book and dont move onto the next chapter until i fully understand the content. Which means sometimes i spend a few days on a few pages because I struggle with them. Also i make my notes for each chapter as i learn while writing. And then revise from my notes.
2. Exam kit is a must. Although for this exam i had only 1 week for revision, but i took a whole week off from work. Also i analysed the sample answers, it took me over an hour to check my answers and make notes. I did not managed to cover all exam kit. I also did not have time left for pilot exam. (Not good, it is better yo find time for this)
3. I read technical articles. They are very useful.
4. If i struggle with a topic, i watch some open tuition lectures. But my key study method is kaplan text book.July 18, 2022 at 6:19 am #660960Passed with 81! I waited until 2 am for results and was jumping up and down when i saw it !! I found exam very difficult and was not even sure if i pass at all !!
January 17, 2022 at 8:13 am #646540My tip to pass – not to leave studying to last minute. I got 73% first attempt. I study with Kaplan book. And if i dont understand something, i watch a video here. When i read a textbook, i dont move on to the next chapter until i understand fully the chapter i am reading and i take notes. Also, doing exam kit as much as possible and analysing the mistakes of each question. (Focusing on quality over quantity in terms of the exam kit questions done)
July 18, 2021 at 1:54 pm #628174Same!!! For me UK midnight is 2am in the morning. So either i dont sleep until message comes or keep waking up at night. Sooo annoying as in both cases I end up beimg very tired next day!!!
March 25, 2021 at 4:20 pm #615197I received 83% and I am super happy about it.
Studying for it was very hard. I mainly used Kaplan book and exam kit. And this book was incredibly hard to understand.
Thank you to Open Tuition. I didn’t watch all lectures. Only the ones I struggled with after reading a textbook and I have to say it translated the concepts into human language. after listening to some lectures I was able to understand the textbook 🙂December 13, 2020 at 7:57 am #599773Hi. I have never used BPP, always used Kaplan. And my last exam was about UK tax. I also self studied.
I like ACCA book. It is well structured, detailed enough to understand but i think it includes only relevant things for exam.
I studied a lot but used only book, acca technical articles for revision and exam kit. Kaplan exam kit is grear. In the end i didnt find exam too difficult. Because after doing exam kit there was no question that surprised me or that i hadn’t covered something similar. So i do recommend kaplan 🙂
Ps good strategy to postpone tax to june! Especially with this corona going on!October 19, 2020 at 1:49 pm #590484Hi. I scored 75% for this exam in September session so I will share my way of studying. Though everyone has their own style.
I study from Kaplan text book. Read every chapter carefully and make notes while reading. My speed is one chapter a day. If in the middle/ end of a book i realize i dont have a well rounded picture of the content i have studied so far, i go back to the beginning and read all chapters again and take more structured notes.
For this exam I read all articles on acca website as well which helped me understand what is expected of me. Because I did not like studying for it at all. Once i am done with reading a text book and doing excercise in text book i start exam kit (couple weeks before exam). And i do every multichoice question without looking at my notes and then C section as much as i can but never manage all of it. Also i did one timed mock exam on acca website. The result – i found C section messy in exam however I had 2 hours left for it as I did the first two parts in 1 hour. - AuthorPosts
