Mike, I know P6 isn’t your area but any suggestions on what the best way to study for it would be? At the moment I am making passcards so its bitesize notes and ideally want to spend some hours at the weekend then attempting one exam question on the pass cards I have made.
Then revise the pass cards during my way to and from work and during lunchtime if possible.
By End of October I will then start the P&R kit.
I am just not sure if I am wasting my time making the pass cards?
September 2, 2013 at 12:10 pm #139502Thank You! Now just got P6 to tackle which I am hoping with plenty of question practise and doing pass cards to revise I will pass!

June 4, 2013 at 11:42 am #128846Did anyone here sit the UK variant paper?
Basically, my paper for Q1 and Q5 wasn’t broken down in marks per requirement? did everyone sitting the UK variant find this was the case? I only realised this wasn’t how all the papers were because of what people have written here.
Q1 on my paper was in email format as expected and all the requirments were in the body of the email, as expected but there was no breakdown of marks againt it. It just said ‘respond to the email’ 31 marks. the email did not have any marks allocated to say audit risk was 24 marks.
reading above, it seems that the paper was broken down into each requirments and marks against it.
I am super worried now that my paper had printing errors or something.
Please let me know ASAP. Much appreciated.

February 14, 2013 at 1:17 pm #117860I have found that admin reviews do not work. I have appealed in the past only to be dissapointed and having wasted a £100. They will not change your mark as that is questioning their integrity and whats worse is they give you a breakdown per question but only showing F or P to say if you passed that question or failed it.
its ridiculous and just a money making scheme.
I am going to be attempting P7 the fourth time as well and I know its really disheartening when people who claimed that they didnt study at all pass and people like us who worked so hard failed but I think its just our bad luck.
February 13, 2013 at 2:12 pm #117769Thank you so much for your advice. I wish I had discovered opentuition earlier but never mind..this time, I will pass P7. I know the content, I just stress and misread the questions on the day then find that I am fighting against time.
I am already stressing but I am going to start studying from now (also have P6)
February 13, 2013 at 1:59 pm #117766Hi Mike, I really appreciate your comments above.
I think I struggle with time management and waffle a lot around the same point. I always feel very stressed in the exam when I allocate the time according to 1.7 mins per mark and feel that omg I should be writing by now but I am not. During the 15 min reading and planning time, I always find that I am too busy just deciding what questions to do and understanding.
I will try your 1.3 min per mark idea and giving planning more of a thought so this means that for a 20 mark questions I should spend about 8 minutes planning and 26 mins writing? I think I waste too much time reading the case as I feel I am a slow reader and under stress dont understand what the case is going on about and what the question is asking.
June ’13 will be my 4th attempt. How shall I best revise for it? I have bought BPP CDs to listen on the train and am thinking to go through the notes per topic and attempt questions from the kit. Initially using the text. Would this be correct? I feel so stressed now and losing confidence in ever passing this paper.
Thank You
February 11, 2013 at 2:26 pm #117344Please give tips on how to score high. I got 33%. I think I did not know enough and was really confused. The paper was a mess and looked a mess so not surprised but REVISION TIPS would be really useful.
I want to start from now!
