    Hi Mark

I had to provide more evidence on my work experience element, so they replied to that email saying that my certificate would be sealed at the council meeting on the 15th Sept. I’d imagine yours was too if you were approved in July 🙂

Has anyone received their certificate yet that was sealed at the 15th September 16 council meeting?

I know it can take up to 6 weeks but I’m getting impatient! haha

How do the ACCA decide which questions to include in the hybrid paper?!
Of the 4 questions, 3, including Q1, are from the March 2016 paper, and only 1 optional question is included from the June 2016 paper.

    This is just stupid.
It should be Q1 + 1 option from one paper and 2 options from the other paper. This makes 75 marks from one paper and 50 marks from the other.

    Ridiculous ACCA.

Q2 & 3 in the hybrid were from June 16 and Q1 and 4 were from March 16

Did anyone manage the VaR question? It asked the confidence interval for the final outcome not to be negative, which means we first had to find the probability of the outcome being between 0 and the mean of 6.5. With a std. deviation of 1.3, the std. variable is

    z = (x-m)/s =(0-6.5)/1.3 = 5

However, the Tables provided in the exam stop at std. variable 3!. Does anyone have a solution for this?

You did the same as I did in the exam… the $6.5m NPV was for the whole project life, so didn’t need to times that by the 7 years, just needed to do the square root of 7 x 1.3^2 and divide $6.5m by the answer to give the number of standard deviations (approx 3.44) 6.5/3.44= 1.89 in the table – which is 0.4706. Add 50% to give 97.06% confident cashflows won’t be negative.

I’m kicking myself now as it was 4 easy marks wasted.

Yes mine did, but also had a link to register for June exams, so I wouldn’t read too much into it!

Yes, subject was something like “self-study guides updates, June exams” etc. It doesn’t mean anything if you are waiting on your final result, they just get sent to everyone currently registered as a student on the database.

    4 days to go!

I don’t think that you have to describe each element of the objective, just a statement on the overall description…

“Write a short statement of 200-300 words in the box below telling us what you did to meet the objective and highlighting any lessons you learned. Your statement should be a concise explanation of how you achieved the performance objective. Remember that you only need to cover the description of the performance objective. You don’t need to summarise all the activities you carried out to achieve the individual elements.

We’ll need details of one or two tasks that you’ve been involved with for each performance objective. The tasks should relate closely to the objective’s description.

When you save your statement your word count will update. If your saved statement is between 200-300 words then claim objective will appear above. Click this to add your performance objective to the basket- so you can submit it to your supervisor for sign-off.”

Very time pressured only managed to scribble a few points for Q3, Question 1a seemed far too easy for 20 marks? They gave you the pro-forma for the report and the models to use?!

Was the 2nd part of question 2 the 6 I’s?

I noticed Open Tuition have posted suggested answers for F5 & F9, will this also be done for P2? I’m trying to figure out if I will be doing a resit in September or if I can start studying for the next module!

    Thanks
