F9 pass! 56 %. Opentuition video lectures helped me a lot!
I had failed with 47% last december.December 22, 2016 at 11:23 am #364239thanks! I also prefer paper especially for studying. But e-books are easy to acces, to transport and are cheaper. That’s why i was hesitating…
I guess i will stick with paper.December 10, 2016 at 12:18 pm #363053does anybody remember this question from the MCQ, where you had to calculate the ROCe using average investment method. Monthly profit was $729000 and the total investment in the beginning of hte project was 1800000. I tried to do this: 729/(1800/2). But it didnt match with any of the given choices.
December 7, 2015 at 5:19 pm #288633I couldn’t answer the question about how auditor should consider laws and regulations DIRECTLY affect the financial statement. I think the fact that the word directly was highlighted made me think that there must be something very special 🙁
June 1, 2015 at 8:25 pm #251663Thank you!
Depreciation! I see now.
In the exam, the problem is that I’m not 100% sure of what I am doing and I’m always to trying to double check. Indeed, I am wasting a lot of time…February 9, 2015 at 9:50 am #227233failed F7 as well…
February 9, 2015 at 9:46 am #227231I failed with 47%, it was my first attempt. I perfectly know the reason of my failure: I just didn’t study enough. I started studying F7 from November 15th 2015 and the last time I studied financial accounting was in 2007. 2 weeks was not enough to revise everything, especially that I was working at the same time, couldn’t take a leave during this period 🙁

November 27, 2014 at 11:59 am #213788In fact, there is another part of that question which has each division’s and company’s revenue amounts. In that part of the question you will find the purchase done by Gearbox from C co (in the C co data).
I don’t remember the amount now, but something like 7500.
Gearbox manager can buy the same stuff for 7500*0.95 (with 5% discount).C co gets a revenue of 8’000 from external clients and 7500 from Gearbox.
Question comes up: if Gearbox stops buying those components from C co, will C co be able to sell the same quantity of components to external market?
The 8000 that C co sells to external market – it is 60% of the market (per question: “C Co currently satisfies 60% of the external demand for its components”). Now you need to know what is 100%. 8000/0.6 = 13333.So if Gearbox stops buying from C co, C co will sell to external market only:
1) 8000 as before
2) 13333-8000 = 5333 additional (to complete 100% of the market)Now we can see that 5333 is less than 7500 purchased by Gearbox.
So it is in the best interest of C co (and the group as a whole) to lower the price and sell to Gearbox. Otherwise it will be left with $2166 of uncovered sales.I think now you can finish the question.
November 27, 2014 at 11:47 am #213786I’ve got exactly the same problem. I just can’t remember them all. Especially that we are expected not only to calculate the variances but also analyse them and discuss the problem 🙁

I did 2 of the past papers and only scored 45 in one and 42 in the other. I noted them myself, of course, based on the answers from the website. Their answers are so complete and so neat. I don’t manage to write my answers the same way.May 7, 2014 at 11:52 am #167758I have the same question. So let me sit here quietly waiting for answers 🙂
April 23, 2014 at 12:31 pm #165978Hi! I’m studying it right now. And I also had difficulties in memorizing the information. But then I found something that helped me. Instead of taking notes in a exercise-book, I cut out credit card-sized pieces of paper and wrote the key words down on them. Then I disposed my cards on the table in way to show the link between different concepts. For example, yesterday I was studying Agency law. I first made to cards: Prinicipal and Agent; then i wrote and put in between those 2 cards with “express agreement – express authority”, “implied agreement – implied authority”, “ostensible authority”… Below each authority i disposed new cards, explaining in 1-2 words how these are defined… and so on.
hope this helps
