accaman, I can but try. If they were easy everyone would be doing them.
2 quotes from Winston Churchill spring to mind:

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts”
“Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking our potential”
Best of luck to you in your studues

Really well done….I have four to go & am thinking of doing the lot in one final sitting in December so I will take inspiration from you!! I also have kids (3) so it won’t be easy with work as well but if I pass it will be 13 exams passed in 2 yrs with one exemption. its a challenge but one worth aiming for i think

Fail to prepare….prepare to fail. Everything that was asked today was on the syllabus so had to be a fair paper, although there is a trend of examiners tending to ask the same things but in a different way (tax this time last year and f7 at christmas). Anyway, if the exams were easy everyone who wanted to be would be an accountant. Suck it up and get on with it people! (and best of luck in the results to all)

1st of all….the question didn’t ask for the expected cash flow at the end of each period but the ending balance, therefore the (500) had to be the opening balance for period 1 and the EV of cash flows at the end of period 1 had to be brought to period 2. can’t remember exactly what closing bal was for period 1 but was something like 2100 positive.

cporteus, think you’re reading too much into that part of the question, it was only 5 marks…..MV was 4m.
for the gearing, the co. was completly ungeared before the issue, so went from being ungeared to geared, 4/17
