You got a different paper to me. I actually came out of the exam feeling like it was a total disaster but then I started to recall my answers and used ChatGPT to see if I was in the right ball park and came to the conclusion that it might be tight, which it was, so now deflated as 2 marks extra would’ve seen me over the line. I didn’t even attempt 3 big questions as I just didn’t study those parts. Sounds like we had a similar experience.
I really think we should set up a group for people attempting the September AFM exam I think we would benefit from it massively.
July 15, 2025 at 2:03 pm #718426Wow, you must feel even worse than I do. It’s such a brutal experience. Made even worse by the fact it’s now 2 months until we can resit. I would like to try again in two weeks just so I can give myself a quick refresher and tackle the areas I knew I was weak in (which came up in my exam).
What exam did you get do you remember?
July 14, 2025 at 2:35 pm #718384Failed 48% absolutely devastated 🙁 Completely lost momentum and motivation for the whole lot now. Thinking of just staying part qualified.
March 6, 2025 at 5:39 pm #715923I had this question too. I was able to rattle off the thresholds but got confused as to which (if any) should have been excluded because the profit and loss thresholds were all met?
Not sure I have passed this one and gutted as I felt like the questions were kind to me.
Struggled with studying in trying to learn a bit of everything as there’s lots of content within all of the standards. I really wish this wasn’t a memory test!
December 4, 2024 at 7:21 am #713804ButterfV Yes you had the same set of questions as me and 2 b) was about risks 🙁
December 3, 2024 at 8:53 pm #713791ButterfV you say not to speculate on the pre seen but you expected what you got? Surely you expect to d that based on the pre seen then?
What did you write for internal control changes? I don’t think I answered that one well at all 🙁
December 3, 2024 at 6:29 pm #713780You had the same as me.
Question 1 was writing a report on the informal and reactive strategic decisions. Spent a long time on this too.
December 3, 2024 at 6:03 pm #713776Have to say I agree with the original poster after today’s sitting. Studied an awful lot of content only to be given a curveball. Now the 6 week wait to be told I haven’t passed and then cram everything in to 6 weeks before my resit. ACCA really need to think about their structuring of exams. I don’t feel like I passed today but on the slim chance I did, I don’t want to start a new topic and then find out I haven’t passed and then have to resit and go over all the stuff I studied before. Feels like a memory test which is not relevant to today’s world. Why can’t we have more exams which are shorter in length and quicker to mark so we can actually be experts and understand theories rather than trying to guess what might come up in an exam.
December 3, 2024 at 5:04 pm #713766Agree with earlier poster, pre seen seemed to not be used much. Question 3 was about responsible leadership which hadn’t been taught in my studies so completely flapped that one. Definite fail from me, very annoyed.
Not sure on the point in all the pre seen information I had been preparing for innovative ways to get business and talk about AI etc
June 8, 2022 at 2:51 pm #657936Oh man. Reading all these comments just makes me even more confused. Agree with posts about the lecture lengths etc but really happy this material is free – guys at open tuition are absolute heroes.
I hope everyone has done enough to pass 🙂
As a side note, I really think the ACCA board should consider restructuring these exams, 3 hours is far too long. If they broke it down into 2 or 3 parts it would be much more manageable and pass rates would be higher. At present it’s just a test of how good your memory is – and mine is not!!!!
