A second attempt cost around GBP650 in 2017. Its almost half the price I would say. Still a lot.
All material is provided by the university. You need to do your own research only when you do not understand it from their notes. They also provide a timetable. So week 1 is topic 1, week 2 is topic 2 and so on. Follow that and you should be ok. You need to put you mind behind it and you should be able to pass without any problem. So I suggest you to keep calm and focus on the reading.
January 29, 2018 at 8:44 am #433763Ayekt,
The coursework and final projects are divided. The first course work will be based on theme 1&2 (6 topics). The second will be based on theme 3&4 (6 topics) and the project on the last two themes. The guidance the Uni provides for these are so clear and precise, you can’t go wrong unless you haven’t done the reading well. They give you the structure of how the writing should be and what should be included.
As long as you read and understand the topics, you should be fine.
January 29, 2018 at 8:32 am #433755Hello Malik,
You need at least 2-3 hours a day. Like said here before, notes are not always clear and you need to do your own research and reading to understand a topic better.
As an auditor, you might have some down days so I suggest you make the most of them to read as much as possible. During the busy days, you will just need to make time and cut down on some leisure. If you follow the schedule the Uni provides, you should be good to go as per my experience.
January 29, 2018 at 8:28 am #433753Hello,
I am not as active here as I was during my ACCA time. As I had mentioned earlier, those who require sample material, please e-mail me at imabba@gmail.com and I will try my best to send you the material asap. It is easier for me to reply to the e-mail than copying and pasting them from here.
Thanks
ImranJanuary 29, 2018 at 8:27 am #433751From what I have read, there are categories. So targeting higher marks will get you a better certificate.
January 29, 2018 at 8:25 am #433750Hello Shahaan,
I passed the GIFP module. It was tough to be honest. The topics were somewhat new and there is a lot to learn in this program. I would suggest you check the forum on your VLE and you will find links to whatsapp groups. The information shared on these groups are invaluable and extremely helpful.
Imran.
November 29, 2017 at 9:43 am #418810Dear Sister,
The program requires daily reading for at least 2hrs on average. Like i have said earlier, it depends on every individual. So if you are good and quick reader 2 hours is good. If not then it may take you longer. For pathway 2 there are no exams like ACCA but projects of 4000 words to 6000 words. So these may take longer hours. Being a parent myself, I understand the workload is quite a bit and hence you may want to consider if you can give time for the reading and the project. I hope you have gone through the prospectus for this Master’s program.
Nothing is impossible! You can have a go at one module, I would say SFP which is less stressful than GIFP. From there you can judge how much effort is required. You can then take a break and do the other module when you are ready. You have five years to complete the 2 modules.
I know of a mothers who have small children and are doing the degree. So i am thinking its possible!
Congratulations and wishing you the best whatever decision you make!

August 29, 2017 at 9:02 pm #404166It would also be nice to get your feedback so far on your course.
August 29, 2017 at 8:58 pm #404163Hi,
Congrats on your submission.
The results are usually out just a few days before your second coursework deadline as per my experience. Your tutor and course managers usually write an e-mail with the probable date for results. You will receive information soon. It’s hell waiting for results. I have to wait until October for my final GIFP module results which i completed in June!
Anyways, all the best!
July 15, 2017 at 3:48 pm #396169I would say it is similar to the P papers. Maybe just a little more. The theory involved is far greater and its not as simplified as the study texts we had for ACCA.
The readings are extracts from researches mostly. Not very easily understood in one reading. Again this is subjective. Everyone learns better differently.
The reading requires you to think and reflect. ACCA was more direct knowledge like standards, theories, calculations. This is less straight forward. Thats why they have provided different researches with different views on certain subjects for eg.CSR and in the process you will develop your own views.
June 27, 2017 at 4:28 am #394159I wanted to complete it all in 6 months myself. However, I suggest one module at a time and so do the University themselves. Hence, you complete it in one year.
I would not recomnend it unless you are not working and have time for full time studies. The University suggests 2 hours a day of studying. In this modern world you know how difficult it is to spare two hours each day and sometimes you might require more time to do more research and understand the topic better.
From my experience once if you do not complete a topic in the suggested week you will find yourself with a lot to catch up with and read. Some topics have a lot of reading to do as i mentioned earlier.
Plus there are courseworks that come in between. So there will be times you will be reading new topics whilst also working on courseworks related to previous topics. I can’t imagine doing another seperate module at the same time.
Many things for me were new. As in, i did not come across them in my ACCA studies so it takes time to digest and understand it well.
However, that’s my experience. At the end it all depends on you.
June 24, 2017 at 12:20 am #393936I need to add that the deadline for the July session is 26th June. That is the coming Monday. Whoever is interested needs to start the process soon. The module cost is £1,340 for certain countries and more for some others.
June 24, 2017 at 12:16 am #393935Hello everyone. I am ACCA affiliate since January 2014 and began the Msc Programme through the pathway 2 this year.
My experience has been on the positive side. It requires a lot dedication which for me was difficult especially since I am doing it through online content. If you follow the timetable that the University provides you are good to go. There is quite some reading to do in most topics.
I studied the Global Issues for the Finance Professional module. Its has a total of 6 themes and 20 topics. They suggest you read one topic a week. All essential materials are provided but you may need to refer to some additional reading for better understanding. Its quite well set up with a quiz at the end of the topic and forums where you can discuss with other students.
Pathway 2 has no exams. This module is assessed through 2 courseworks based on themes 1-2 (6 topics) and themes 3-4 (6 topics) and a project at the end based on themes 5-6.
Courseworks require a maximum of 4,000 words essays whilst the project requires 6,000 words. The project has two parts. The theory and a reflection part. I submitted my project just last Friday. The University provides full guidance and advise on the courseworks and projects. Which makes it very simple.
It’s been a good experience so far. Although we have received preliminary results for our courseworks, our final results for the coursework and project will be out in November. That’s quite far but no choice. I am probably starting the next module in July.
Wish me luck!
I will be happy to answer any queries on this. I can also provide some examples of the resources as well.
