Passed third time at 52 after 2 fails at 49. Not exactly happy with my pass mark as I took a different approach and really put a lot of time and effort in and used as many resources and sources of support as possible, but a pass is a pass. Thanks open tuition – I think your exam technique articles might have made the difference!
March 7, 2020 at 6:35 pm #564822The 6 mark Balance Sheet question in part C was a bit of a curveball, but I copied out the original format and entered the new figures (showing workings), adjusting the reserves to make it balance. Hadn’t seen this in any past question practice! The 9 mark NPV question felt very comfortable.
Part A was heavily theory based – only 4 calculation questions out of the 15. Part B was more of a mixture but no WACC or CAPM or any of the ‘heavy’ topics that are more commonly examined!

Finally passed with 53%, fifth attempt.
Previous results were all around 46-49%.It’s only exam I’ve failed so far, it was a bit of a stumbling block for me, but got there in the end.
CONGRATULATIONS! Your hard work paid off in the end. Onwards and upwards!
January 13, 2020 at 12:33 am #558016Fail with 49%. Given that my mocks and practices were consistently 60% or above, I am very surprised and have contacted ACCA to ask to view my paper and what the process for appeals is. Does anyone have any positive experience with appeals?
April 15, 2019 at 10:40 am #512756Failed at first attempt with 43%, but only discovered Open Tuition during the revision phase. Will definitely revisit your resources when trying again!
March 8, 2019 at 5:30 pm #508641I got the Samba and Pirlo question – a bit tricky but hope I managed to write something meaningful in the 12 mark part. The other C question was more manageable – the P&L and OCI, but struggled to squeeze 15 marks’ worth out of it.
Is is just me or was there no cash flow whatsoever? Would have preferred a long reconciliation question on that!
