(ii) tax payable—NIL —see the calculated ans for june 2011 Q4(a) computation

    (c)(i)(ii)—-june 2011 Q4(b)

Sad T.T really hate myself …why question 1 i forgot it, question 2 forget a bit here a bit there & the CA rate forget to write….and question 3, feel want to knock my head on the wall, i just forget to deduct interest inc and deduct dividend inc, and forget to copy all deductible exp and write NIL and forget also to add back interest & dividend inc at NIL…i write the total amount…really forget all… >.< sad!!!

Basis period is the accounting period. No basis period for ya 2013. I’m not sure whether correct or not.

Reit…yes no tax payable. Though, the question said it was paid later, after the year end. So, no idea whether correct or not.

I’m gonna repeat. What is done is done. Hopefully being marked for the answers, mercy from the marker and pass.

Capex is not allowed. tis is past yr question right? i forgot again n again!!!

which page is it in choong kwai fatt book? the question 1 r&d?

What is done is done. The div and int are just to confuse us more. Yes, depn and trustee fee add. There is another one. IBA for the factories let out. Take capex amount deducting land.

I forgot to write that capex is not allowed. Only wrote double deduction. I had no idea what to do if the research was subcontracted to a third party.

Q2 is about…raising capital through few ways. Tax deductibility of the interest incurred on them.

Then purchase fixed asset through 3 methods. This was a PYQ. Whether there’s any CA, if the payments are tax deductible, what is the CA rate etc.

Then the HoldCo….is a IHC….difference between listed and unlisted IHC.

I was upset with Q1 n 2. So I did 3 n 4 first. Then Q2 seems ok. Q1 terrible. Overall 97% theory paper. Lots of PYQ repeated in a different way.

    Pass or not…only God Knows

I did one question on r&d. Double deduction on direct research expenses. Capex is not allowed. I checked in choong kwai fatt text…it was under pioneer. No idea what calculation they were talking about.

    I didn’t do RPGT. I ignored q5. Did…Q1,2,3,4.

Q3 reit…I did the same adding trustees fees and depn. Interest and dividend income are exempted.

After combining, Nuvola shareholders takes up 100m shares in Makonis. Total shares in Makonis is 310m. So 100÷310 is 32% which is 1/3.

    Hey,

It has to be 1.8920, because u sell usd to get sterling. Unless u have to deposit usd now which is due to be received in few months.

U are not getting the payment now, so u deposit now. To deposit now, its ur own money which is sterling that needs to be converted into usd. For that u use 1.8890. If u borrow now, use 1.8920. It would be better if u post this on the Ask The Tutor forum

    Hi,

If you read, there is a sentence saying Mlima is not going to take up any more debt. The paragraph just after Mlima’s p&l. So it is all equity discount rate. It is to be assumed so.

Give me some time to do Q2.

Ok, borrower put and lender call. Interest rate hedging is fine. I will remember the sentence.

    Exchange rate hedging?

I have finished 2nd revision of PYQ. I’m on my final revision, still blurrrrrrr.

Doing PYQ from Dec 2010 till June 2014. This is our final week for revision. I will log in every 3 hrs. We should be practising our time management, finishing questions in 3 hours.

So, friends we can still share our knowledge and learn something from each other. Thank you @andymaj2010

    Hi stacie,

I’m looking into that question now. I think I may discuss it with you.

I can answer (iv). The suppliers are providers of finance BUT not to the shareholders. They provide finance to the working capital, to manufacture goodsto be sold. I am answering based on what I understand.

The rest of the question, I will try to answer or I can even discuss it with you if you don’t mind. This way, we don’t have to disturb the tutor unless both of us are stucked.
