December 10, 2012 at 4:33 pm #111180I used Swot analysis for ques 2 .. as there were strengths ( motivated volunteer staff ) , threats ( government reduced funding ) … opportunities ( A old mansion which could be improved ) , Weakness ( website not properly structured ) .
December 6, 2012 at 6:26 pm #110441@ najma you are wrong . IT was clear in the question that the regulator did not want SS company to maintain monopoly therefore the regulator did not want the ROCE to exceed 6%.
December 6, 2012 at 6:21 pm #110439My ROCE was also 6% or 5.98 % . I rounded it off to 6 %. It means the company will not be penalised as the Roce was less then 6 % . If Roce would have been greater than 6 % regulator rate then we would have been penalised.
December 6, 2012 at 2:30 pm #110407@ saidco2010 : yes my EVA was also negative. But paper was a disaster. I attempted Sec B first and did Q3 and Q4. Q1 and Q2 scenarios were too lengthy. I left 18 marks and couldn’t complete the paper on time π hope I get pass Inshallah
October 25, 2012 at 11:21 am #105859My concepts are cleared now. I had no idea what flexibility was. I wonder why aren’t these type of explanations included within the text books. Wasting so much money on text books and the result is we get is Fail. I also listened to the lecture about NFP measures. Thank you opentuition.
About putting answer from part B to part A is because many students cant interpret what the examiner is actually asking because their first language is not english. I also face difficulty during exam…. sometimes we wrongly interpret the requirements. In the last sitting examiner asked in Q 4 part (a) to assess the progress of the benchmarking exercise to date … Many students didn’t know that actually it was asking about the benchmarking process .. and they ended up losing 8 important marks. Sometimes requirement in p5 paper are blur and we cant understand and end up giving wrong answers π
October 23, 2012 at 11:45 pm #105856Thank you so much :D. it means Productivity, efficiency and Resource utilization are input vs output measures. I am still having problems with Flexibility and I think it is the most difficult measure. I am working hard hope I pass this paper in first attempt π
October 22, 2012 at 5:34 pm #105861Thank you so much for the advice. I am very weak in this area specially where we have to analyse the organisation by using appropriate performance measures. I always end up using wrong performance measures.
