Questions were pretty reasonable. Only issue was the time constraint.
Was able to attempt only 70-80%, dont know what happens to my probability of passing the exam now.How did it go for you
February 6, 2014 at 8:03 pm #155595Finished my ACCA at 21. π
August 5, 2013 at 9:50 pm #135061Congrats. 90% chance that you have passed, and are an affiliate.
The grad date is usually seen on the ERS of those who clear their exams and become an affiliate, if due to some ACCA IT issues again if you have been leaked into this information, then i can presume you are pass.
June 17, 2013 at 10:23 am #132559You have to write 3 papers of ICAEW after ICAP qualification to become an ICAEW.
And as i said, ICAEW will only be good for you if you are looking to venture outside Pakistan. If you are willing to stay in Pakistan, ICAP is good enough.

In Pakistan, Go for ICAP.. I dont see any value addition in doing ICAEW after ACCA.ICAEW is a worldwide recognized professional body, and when they say this they mean it.
They have partnerships with CA Australia, CA Scotland, CA South Africa, CA New Zealand and CA USA as well. No other CA body is able to boast of this. Thus, you can actively seek to work in the aforementioned countries if you have an ICAEW.
Plus, ICAEW gives you an easier access to industry out of Pakistan, whereas ACCA/ICAP could stall you if you do not have sufficient experience.June 14, 2013 at 12:21 am #132103If you want to move outside Pakistan go for ICAEW, else ICAP would be preferrable in Pakistan.
Since ICAP has a monopoly in Pakistan most FDs and FCs would be ICAP and thus would prefer an ICAP qualified accountant working for them, thus ICAP is ideal in Pakistan.
June 8, 2013 at 1:30 am #130599Let me share my experience with you guys, which might help calm some of you people down.
Candidates here who have attempted only 80% of the paper, and attempted it well, will PASS. But when i say attempted it, it means you have tailored you’re answer to the scenario in its totality.
I can admit to people here, that after the June 2012 P5 exam, i was here on the P5 forum and was whining about how hard & time pressured the paper was. I had only attempted 75% of the paper. I was quite sure about the first question of 50 marks, but wasn’t so much about the 2nd question of 25 marks, which I had just rushed through due to me running short of time. However, a good thing, that i did while rushing was that I did not fill my answer with unrequired gibberish and just wrote whatever i could grasp from the scenario. I did not even attempt the 3rd question.
And I passed with a 54. Even though it was just a pass, in hindsight i was more than relieved with this pass. I guess you people should try and relax a bit. Its all in your head right now, and most of you guys will get through provided you wrote the right things.
Good luck guys π
February 5, 2013 at 8:11 pm #114900^ i was a finalist last time, and failed one out of two, and did not get that white screen last time.
Anyways, i suggest to put an end to this speculation, as the result is just a mere 50 hours away.
February 4, 2013 at 5:05 pm #114752I still get the white layout. No idea what it means.
February 3, 2013 at 8:07 pm #114650^ yes, even i get this white screened layout
February 3, 2013 at 7:51 pm #114646Dont see ‘student’ or ‘affiliate’ written anywhere.
February 3, 2013 at 7:30 pm #114642^ Nope. Just done Profession ethics. PER is not finished yet
February 3, 2013 at 7:24 pm #114639Im a final attempt student as well.

cant remeber much, but in question 2 , i thought HFS item was wrongly placed in NCA, it should be under CA and I/s should show discontinued operationsI thought the classification was correct, but the amount recorded could have been wrong. Since you had to value it at lower of CV and FV, and the procedure they had used would only provide evidence about the FV. So i just criticized the procedure and said that it might have been recorded at FV and thus overstated.
And Plus you could write about depreciation there as well. Whether the entity has stopped depreciating the asset.December 4, 2012 at 11:18 am #1096041 part π FS Risks
IAS 2 Inventory Write off
IAS 36 Production line impairment

Wrote about the ISA 580 Written representations, Some quality issues, FS risks.
December 4, 2012 at 11:10 am #109603^ Muneeb you were reviewing financial statements at the interim stage i dont think it had anything to do with expression of an opinion.
June 22, 2012 at 10:12 pm #98814i agree with the above posters, for starters all of us should definitely fill out the survey and send it to ACCA. It might matter in the end, as it is the only method of student-exam board communication, i’d suggest everyone to fill it out first and we could go ahead with the petition as well.
shudnt leave any stone unturned in getting our voice across, should we?
June 18, 2012 at 1:54 pm #101188June 18, 2012 at 1:49 pm #98777People here saying that ACCA passing rate being low will do them more bad than good, have to consider that a lower passing rate in their examination means a tougher qualification to achieve and hence its increase in value in the market.
Lets face it, an employer given the option of hiring a person who has passed a qualification with an average 30% pass rate as compared to a qualification having 65% pass rate is obviously going to hire the 30% pass rate candidate.
The difficulty in achieving a qualification only adds to its value.
And those saying that having a low pass rate means ACCA is having students with low intellectual capabilities must keep in mind that getting to the professional stage itself requires heck of a lot of capabilities, if you cannot get to the professional stage ur not fit enough to become an ACCA, and if you get to this stage you certainly have the ability.
I agree even my paper was pathetic and im almost certainly failing, but i have myself partly to blame for not practising by timing questions. And perhaps ill go for P6 in the next exam, judging by my habit of not being able to complete any paper on time.
June 15, 2012 at 2:56 pm #98707Hoping he gives marks for application regardless of whether uve done it wrong or right LOL. I don’t even remember half of the things i wrote in the last hour.

guys give your feedback here. It could be the difference between a pass and a fail!
https://www.webropolsurveys.com/Answer/SurveyParticipation.aspx?SDID=Uni515698&SID=00d3f9c8-4b63-4208-a56You are wasting your time providing any feedback to the ACCA in my opinion. I have done so for several years now, and several times complaining about Alex Watt, as his exams are quite simply very unfair, but nothing ever changed – he is still here. I have never come across another examiner like him – he has never written any technical articles for ACCA students, only one article that was patronising to us, as I mentioned in another post before.
Do you really think the ACCA could care a damn about our feedback? The more students that fail, the more money they make. We are in tough times and the more students that fail, the better for the ACCA revenue stream.
Hopefully, they do something. Because if I fail this one, then the signs look ominous and im not going for another failure in december. Will go for P6.

I wrote something like 5forces n pestel to evaluate co performance in Q1a, dunno its work or not…nothing to talk abt the REPORT… and Q1c what gets measure get done? I rili gt no time to THINK wat kind of question is this!!!!I thought we had to assess the report format. The information provided therein, as in not analysis, but the headings, what further information was required, what was not right with the format of the report n stuff. Coz i’ve seen one very similar question in BPP relating to info overload.

Alex Watt should be hanged! Not to die, but just to evaluate the question: “should he be hang or should be not”? Please add improvements to this πHe is ridiculous! 25 people after the exam, were still wondering: what was the question?
I want to officially start collecting names, in order to officially complain (as a Group) to ACCA. THIS EXAMINER HAS TO GO !! And never to be heard again!!!
HE HAS NO REAL LIFE EXPERIENCE (not one ! day worked, only as frrelance lecturer and other bla bla). He has no idea how a Company works. And his scenarios are just plain stupid ! Plus, the requirements, only him and his mother know what they are!! What was Q1 c) talking about? Performance Pyramid? Building Blocks? How they should be applied, given the HUGE amount of non-sense info from the question?
HE HAS TO GO !!!! NOT EVEN ONE MORE EXAM WITH ALEX WATT !!
Sorry bro, but your post cracked me up after dead sadness for the past 2 hours.
πThat paper was the worst of my life. Only miracle can save me π
