The section B question on standard costing included a spreadsheet in my MA exam. The problem you describe didn’t appear on my exam thankfully. It would be unfair on students if the cell in a question wasn’t aligned correctly or didn’t show up on the screen in an exam.
August 31, 2023 at 2:36 pm #691076Took the MA exam today, thankfully I passed with 61%. I’m glad I spent the last two weeks practising questions on my weaker areas along with Section B type questions. There were a few variance style questions in Section A along with questions high low method, EOQ, scatter graphs, sampling and setting budgets.
May 4, 2021 at 10:46 pm #619685Thanks Kim, if I hadn’t seen your message I wouldn’t have known about it. I didn’t receive any e-mails from ACCA advising me I owed the subscription fee.
May 4, 2021 at 6:29 pm #619666That’s fairly unlikely to happen, I don’t have any recollection of such incidents happening. ACCA would take a rather dim view of such actions occurring and I reckon if proven, the centres in question would not be allowed hold future ACCA exams.
April 23, 2021 at 2:28 pm #618612Passed my FA exam today. Thanks to John for the wonderful notes / lectures on this site, I wouldn’t have passed without them.
April 13, 2021 at 7:21 pm #617468Would you have physically attended a centre for your exam by any chance? ACCA have been clear about remote exams (check the link in my last post), paper isn’t allowed on your desk. So if your last exam was remote, the invigilator shouldn’t have let you have the paper on your desk.
April 9, 2021 at 10:55 pm #616603I attended a webcast from ACCA about a month or two ago dealing with remote exams. They said on that webcast that you can’t have any paper on your desk. If you need to do calculations during the exam, you had to use a piece of software called scatchpad which would be provided during the exam. A calculator is permitted.
There’s an FAQ on the ACCA website about remote exams. If you scroll down to the What equipment am I allowed to you use during the exam? question, they provide you with more information about what you’re allowed to have on your desk:
April 9, 2021 at 9:38 pm #616598I have my exam next Friday so I’m in the same boat revision wise. What I’ve been doing so far is making use of the practice questions for each chapter on this site to see where I’m falling down and revising where appropriate. There’s also a revision mock exam on open tuition as well which I will attempt.
The ACCA education hub also has 3 mock exams available on it, they will be worth a try too if you have the time.
Another good option on the ACCA website is the CBE specimen exams as these will show you exactly how the exam will look on the day. They’re here: https://specimen.accaglobal.com/flk.html
