The person who was browing and commenting on this site on a toilet break while taking his/her exams is telling porkies. Here in the UK, I’m told, you are escorted in and out of toilets and your pockets are checked to see if you’re carrying anything. In any case who in their right mind would do such a thing! Going to the loo is bad enough, but then wasting time like this is ridiculous.
June 11, 2012 at 8:54 pm #97803Apparently F5 was a disaster today. Just read some of the comments on their Forum. Is that what’s in store for us in F8, I wonder? Really scared, folks. Basically, I’d give these tips a wide bearth and revise topics that have not been tipped by anyone!
June 10, 2012 at 2:49 pm #97844What’s the point of “tips” if between all the tips from different colleges, they cover the entire syllabus? The same thing applies in tips for all others all papers’. Better to list topics that are probably not going to be asked, or the least important ones, or list topics in order of their importance.

June 19, 2011 at 10:20 am #85324I have just sat for F8 and pretty confident that will clear. Can I take P1 now (I have exemption for F1-F4, and have only appeared for F8 from the skills module) I was thinking of doing F5, F7 and P1. If thats not possible i plan to do F5, F6 and F7. Yes 3 papers may be taxing on my time (I work full time and have a 4 year old as well). But I want to do it, even if it takes throwing my life away for 6 months.
Thoughts and Suggestions welcome. Please let me know if this is practically doable?
Regards
I think F5 will clash with P1 because they’re usually taken on the same day, so you can’t sit for two papers at the same time.
But someone will correct me on this?
June 14, 2011 at 7:31 pm #84577I understand and many thanks for your answer.
June 9, 2011 at 2:42 pm #84016On hedging I think I got the forward rate cheaper than the market hedge.
June 9, 2011 at 2:34 pm #84012For sensitivity, I waffled about beta, probabilities (EV) and sensitivity.
God, when I think back, I could have done so much better.
June 9, 2011 at 2:29 pm #84011My IRR was aroung 8.something%, crap!
Far too much to write. And yes I started with working out the damn EOQ, then realised it wasn’t that. Had to leave bits out. Started with Q4, whch I thought was reasonably doable.
Completely exhausted, fingers crossed for this one, but it doesn’t look good for me, I must admit.

Our loss, their gain.
June 8, 2011 at 2:03 pm #83687And to think I put so much effort into this…all to no avail.
Blast!
June 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm #83686On hindsight, I think I may have misunderstood the outsourcing question, I didn’t realise they were thinking of giving the job to the auditing firm, or were they? Also, on the dis/advantages of narrative notes, was she also asking the same about ICQ’s, I only wrote abote the notes, gripes.
Also on the audit report re the corrupted wages back-up thingy, I argued that it was limitation of scope, sure but only merited an “…except for…” qualification because the failure wasn’t pervasive enough to merit a stronger qualification.
The guy sitting in front of me asked for two(!) extra scritps, completely put me off.
It was passable, but I don’t think I’ve done enough. This is so annoying.
