I don’t entirely agree. I studied BPP and the time series example was not very well explained. I struggled a lot to work out where some figures where coming from…there was also a note saying that that type of calculations were not likely to come up in the exam but rather the interpretation. The TQM was explained in there but I think it was a bit confusing. When they compared it to the standard costing it seemed that they could not work together, but the theory about ideal vs attainable budgeting was saying that they could be used together but for different reasons: one to motivate employees and the other one as a kind of benchmark. At least that was my understanding.
June 15, 2012 at 3:11 pm #99613It worked. I just didn’t select the country 🙂 Thanks forhad!
June 15, 2012 at 2:40 pm #99611I filled out the survey as well but once I selected the country it navigated away. I didn’t have the chance to hit Submit. Do you know if it was submitted or not? Did that happen to any of you?
June 13, 2012 at 6:43 pm #99586It seems that some people misunderstood the point here. Most of the people complain about the lack of collaboration between the acca examiners and the learning providers. The topics to be examined should be fully covered by the study texts (without even being needed to attend any courses). The study and revision texts are quite expensive anyway. The point here was that most of the people here did a lot of studying, and they would have done more, but there wasn’t enough information in the books. Besides, the questions were done in such a way that one should start writing straight away in order to finish in time. But this is possible only when one is familiarised with that type of question, otherwise it takes some time to think it over. And this time should be considered as well.
June 12, 2012 at 12:06 pm #99547Hi everyone.
This is how it goes:
“After each exam session, the Exam Review Board (ERB) meets to discuss the ACCA Qualification exams. The board consists of ACCA Education staff and six representative members of the Approved Learning Partner community. The board reviews the examination questions, answers and marking schemes to ensure that the papers are a fair and reasonable test and recommends changes to the syllabus and format of the papers. All Platinum Approved Learning partners are able to provide written feedback to be included in discussion. Consideration is also given to comments from students, submitted using the exam survey.Minutes from this board summarise the comments made by the tuition provider representatives, report survey results about the exams from student questionnaires and detail the responses. The minutes can be found below”.

I guess we should all complete the survey. It is not open yet. It will be at the end of the examinations. Below is the link where we should find the exam survey:

June 11, 2012 at 6:39 pm #99494I feel the same. The questions were twisted. In my opinion an exam should be straightforward and it should test the main points and if they were properly understood. This exam was a kind of memory test…not even so! It’s a shame i wasted so much time studying for it…didn’t really help. When i did the previous exam papers, i easily scored over 60. But it wasn’t the case today 🙁
