Hi Eagledave
That’s indeed very useful advice! Thanks a lot 🙂
I was wondering to put this as a new thread post but I will chack it with you anyway, I was working as Production planner for over 7 years and was wondering if somehow I could use this or a part of this towards my 36 months of the PER ?Just in case you could guide me that?
Like I said it was non relevant field for the most part but a part of my job did involve monitoring and updating overall factory throughputs and individual job yields and costs.
Thanks

My journey is similar to yours I guess in terms of managing personal aspirations and the harsh realities of life!
I come from a poor/humble family in Pakistan. I came to UK for studies and graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons in Business and Management from Cardiff, UK back in 2010. I always had this desire to pursue my career in accountancy and ACCA was obviously the next logical step but I couldn’t afford further studies since I had to support family back home and I could only do that if I stayed in the UK.
I started working for a business who were happy to sponsor my tier 2 general for the next 5 years. it was a non accountancy role with more to do with planning, forecasting and supply chain side.
It was a high pressure and stressful job and I couldn’t do anything else with it!
Now that I have finally got my settlement status in the UK, the first thing I did was to quit that dead end unsatisfying job and study towards my ACCA, finally!! I am 32 years old but I am as determined and motivated as I was the first day in my Uni over 10 years ago. If I manage to be an established auditor by 40 that would be an achievement! So yeah life does take you on a bumpy and challenging journey but it all works out well in the end! I hope! Never give up on your dreams 🙂
