October 16, 2017 at 8:57 pm #412017Hi @ iloveaccountancy
I studied one paper at a time, before starting another one. I made sure that I attempted all questions from question bank before moving to next subject. In last month, I used to do revision of all subjects by practising questions from question bank.
I appeared for F7 in September and started studying in August, since I had to appear only one paper, I did not have issue. In December I appeared for F5, F6 and F8, this was quite challenging. Started preparation after Sept exam and I spent November revising all three subjects. I did not study untill result date, then started studying for P6 and F9, this time I just had 45 days to study and revise. In June, I appeared for P2 and P3, Syllabus of P3 is comparatively less as compared to other subjects, so did not have issue in managing studying these two subjects. After June exam, I started preparing for P4 and P1,Key is studying, practising questions and revising by solving few questions. I would not recommend appearing for more than 2 exams per sitting. Study hard, open tuition lectures are enough to score decent marks. Get question bank from tuition provider to solve questions.
If you put effort then coaching or tuition is not required, self studying is more enjoyable. And do not give attention to negative comments on any forum, don’t listen to moaning people, that would just dent your confidence.
All the best to all aspirants,October 16, 2017 at 12:20 pm #411845Hi to all who wants to know if one can do self study and the answer in yes. I cleared all exams with self study in a year time that too being a married with less than a year old child, 9 to 6 full time job and no study leave during exam, just leave on exam day. If I can do it then anybody can do it. It is just a matter of hard work, sincerity and dedication. If you study for at least two hours everybody then success would follow you. Taking two hours out everybody is tough but believe it is manageable.
I am so much thankful to open tuition for excellent study material. Keep your study simple, try to understand concepts and ideas. Go through all lecture videos and attempt each and every questions on question bank, read technical articles on ACCA website. I used Kaplan question bank. Make a short and simple notes and do not make it complicated. Give you best and you will succeed. If you get stuck in any topic, leave it and come back later. My marks in all paper as below:
F5 Performance Management Pass 75 December 2016
F6UK Taxation (United Kingdom) Pass 80 December 2016
F7 Financial Reporting Pass 81 September 2016
F8 Audit and Assurance Pass 53 December 2016
F9 Financial Management Pass 74 March 2017
P1 Governance, Risk and Ethics Pass 79 September 2017
P2INT Corporate Reporting (International) Pass 68 June 2017
P3 Business Analysis Pass 65 June 2017
P4 Advanced Financial Management Pass 55 September 2017
P6UK Advanced Taxation (United Kingdom) Pass 66 March 2017Only subject which I found extremely hard while attempting exam was P4, this subject is very interesting and enjoyable but exam was very tough. My advice to all would be only choose this subject if you have liking towards it otherwise dont opt this. My best wishes to all who wants to start ACCA journey.
Thank you so much Open Tuition, you guys are great.
October 16, 2017 at 12:02 pm #411837Thank you so Md, I owe a lot to open tuition for providing such an excellent study materials.
October 16, 2017 at 12:16 am #411383Passed p4 with 65% and P1 with 79%. I feel so proud of myself now. Enrolled in August, gave my first exam in September 2016 and gave my final two exams in September 2017 and that too without any tuitions, just with the help of open tuition notes and videos and Kaplan question banks. I feel so happy and satisfying. I know how much hard work I had put into this qualification while working full time 9 to 6, being married with a child of less than a year.
My advise to everybody would be to be sincere in studying and spend couple of hours studying everybody and success would follow you.
Still cannot believe that I have become an affiliate.
Best feeling
