Does anyone have APM Kaplan Rev and Study Kit and want to swap for AFM?
These were used for Dec 2019.

Disappointing. I failed first time with 33%. However I knew I hadn’t revised enough so expected not to do so well. After this I took a full month off for pure revision in November and still failed at 40%. Doesn’t make much sense given the time and effort I put in for each exam with an increase of 8% 🙁This is a 7% increase.

April 17, 2018 at 11:05 pm #447878I just passed the March sitting with 63%.
My advice is:
1) Use the numbers given in the scenario to calculate anything you can and make inference. This is +10%
2) Learn even obscure parts of the syllabus to not get caught out. This will account for 20 marks. Eg strategy lenses, strategic drift, benchmarking. This is + 20%
3) ANSWER THE QUESTION and leave AT LEAST 30 min for the last question in section B (answer A first).
4) Don’t waffle. Make several points of a sentence or two. Don’t write a paragraph about one point.
5) Use clear headings that are underlined.
6) Answer every single question. Relate back to scenario before making generic suggestions or reciting textbook knowledge when ideas dry up.
7) If a model is suggested / expected, jot it down on your answer booklet before answering part a). Refer to your illustration in parts a/b/c where applicable. Eg this is a heartland sbu per diagram ii).
Good luck to you.

I certainly feel I know the course very well. I wrote all my own flash cards and can recall all the models. But I admit putting off practicing lots and lots of questions beforehand.
I did attempt all the questions on the day. I maybe missed some easy marks that I have to collect next time.
I was shocked to fail as I thought I had passed comfortably. It’s possible that under pressure I misread a question and wasted time with a wrong answer. I did plan all my answers before writing them up after highlighting the question requirements.
I don’t necessarily find the content difficult, but thinking, planning and writing up is time pressured.
I need to use more of the financial data provided too.
I got a review on my paper for my own peace of mind. I failed q1,q3 and passed q4.
So I guess like you say, strict exam time practice is key.
Thanks again.
Dasal.
