“All current students on the register will have been given a last exam session date which is 10 years from when they initially registered. Under the new rules, if you have not completed the exams by your last session date you will not be removed from the register. However, you will lose any passes you may have achieved at the Professional level if you passed them more than seven years ago so these exams will have to be retaken. All Professional Level exams must be passed within a 7 year period.”

March 4, 2015 at 10:50 am #231218No Avnish it does’t help because it is absolute rubbish.
Please don’t post if you don’t have a clue what you are talking about your only motive is to cause unnecessary stress to students. The new seven year rule applies to all students Vassahard I suggest you check on the ACCA website for accurate information.
January 20, 2015 at 1:33 pm #223081Anyone heard or seen anything official from ACCA in regards to the changing of the 10 year rule? Many thanks
October 23, 2014 at 1:36 pm #205610Asking someone to send you an email is dangerous. You will probably be moaning you have a virus soon. Be careful !!

August 22, 2014 at 2:50 pm #191911Looks like they are coming. Great news especially when the option papers have such a low pass rate!!!

August 22, 2014 at 10:11 am #191852Where have you seen this? I don’t believe there has been an official announcement yet.
If there has, please would you be kind enough to post the link.
Many thanksAugust 11, 2014 at 10:05 pm #189525Thanks a lot John I’m extremely grateful like many others to you and all the OT team.
I’m going to try harder then ever to pass my remaining exams.
I just hope the effort will be worth it.
I would be so happy if acca made some sort of announcment probably more than if spurs won the league which I can’t believe I’m saying.
Thanks againAugust 11, 2014 at 8:20 pm #189503Anyone else worried about this?? I’m extremely worried !!!
August 8, 2014 at 6:12 pm #188652I trying so hard but now have 5 exams to complete in 3 years otherwise I’m time barred. I’m confident I can pass but the added pressure is making me ill. The 10 year rule has always been in place but no one has been time barred. I pray that the proposed change will come in I will be so happy more than if England won the World cup !!
Definitely keep trying I wish you luckAugust 7, 2014 at 11:01 am #186929I’ve heard a pilot sitting is coming September 2015 but what does that mean?
It’s not as if the ACCA has never run an exam sitting.
CIMA currently offer four sittings, ACA have been running three for years.
I suppose if it ever happens students will be the last to know.July 21, 2014 at 4:47 pm #179298Anyone have any further info there must be a lot of concerned students out there.
ACCA have never time barred anyone before why would this be fair to do it now.
Surely the proposal makes perfect sense because people get exemptions and start the course at different stages.
Everyone has to do the Professional papers so surely a time limit on just those papers is fairer.July 21, 2014 at 4:41 pm #179297Hi John
In regards to the proposal to change the overall time limit do you have any news as to when there will be any announcement from the ACCA.
I’ve contacted ACCA but they never give me any information, today I was told to call back in two years time.Any help will be greater appreciated.
July 16, 2014 at 5:01 pm #179019What does September 2015 exam sitting pilot mean? Any news when ACCA will release official info?
June 11, 2014 at 1:47 am #175860Does anyone have any update regarding this? A lot of students will be hit by June 2017 deadline. I know a survey was sent round proposing a change to the 10 year rule and you would think when the 4 sittings a year come into play this will have an effect on this?

March 7, 2014 at 2:33 pm #161729Thanks for the original update.
Are there any further updates from the ACCA regarding if this proposal is going to happen and when any announcement would be made.I think this is a big point as a lot of people will be hit by the June 2017 deadline.
Many thanks
