I’m a CPA and a CMA and this by far has been the worst experience for me sitting for a professional certification. Why do ACCA examiners do this to candidates? It will only frustrate people and will eventually force them to aim for the CPA rather than sit for I don’t know how many ACCA papers and get hit with these kinds of ridiculous questions. The ACCA examiners had to only test whether we know accounting or not. But in the test it was pretty obvious that they just wanted to trick candidates and make them feel miserable.
About the test, some of the MCQs were so obscure and while Q1was ok, Q3 was a complete utter disaster. I just want to know why? Why do they ask such questions? they really don’t need to trick candidates THAT MUCH.
If I don’t pass this paper I will not sit for it again and will not be renewing my ACCA subscription anymore. I feel sorry for you guys but I really suggest some of you to think about getting a CPA. It’s not easy but at least if you study hard and well enough you can pass, and if I could do it so can you.Good luck!

April 10, 2015 at 1:10 am #240705Mahoysam, I’m a US CPA & CMA. I can tell you from experience that CPA is much easier than ACCA. After passing the CPA, I still have to pass F7 and 5 other P level papers to become an ACCA member. By looking at the breadth of materials and the required time to complete for both the ACCA and CPA, I can assure you that ACCA is superior to CPA everywhere OUTSIDE the USA.
I also think that the knowledge you obtain by sitting for ACCA exams is more relevant to you if you live outside the USA. Why would you really want to study US tax law when you know you won’t be working in the US in the future?Cujo
