October 21, 2020 at 7:38 pm #591027Hi Vijay,
Just had another question in relation to question 13.1 in the BPP exam kit. Is the answer wrong ?
I thought to be a partnership there has to be two or more people owning the business. If there’s only one individual then that must mean it’s a sole trader and not a partnership ?
Thanks,
October 20, 2020 at 12:41 pm #590768Hi Vijay,
Just a quick question. How is Section B marked by the software ? There are some instances where the question is 4 marks but there are 4 separate bullet ?
So for example in the BPP Exam kit Section B, Q1.b, on page 157, would we get a mark for each bullet ? So we could hypothetically get 2/4 marks or 3/4 marks ? or can we only get either 0 marks of 4 marks as we have to get everything right and getting one bullet wrong can lead to 0/4 marks.
Thanks,

October 13, 2020 at 12:40 pm #588753Thanks Vijay.
Also, at which point should I expect to be in a good position to tackle the exam ? I have been going through the Open tuition lecture notes and the exam kit. Generally on each chapter I am scoring somewhere between 9/15 to 12/15 on each chapter.
Should I ideally be scoring 100% on each chapter ? and then I am ready to tackle the exam ? This is my first ACCA exam, so not really sure what is a good guideline. I did attempt the Open tuition mock over a week ago without really covering the full syllabus and got 47% on the mock. Given I’ve covered more now and nearly completed the exam kit, I am expecting my performance to be stronger.
Any advice would be helpful. Thanks again and stay sage.
August 9, 2020 at 9:03 pm #579769Oh no worries. Thanks. I thought the revision kit and exam kit were two compulsory resources bought from BPP or Kaplan. Thanks for pointing out my mistake here and clarifying that I only actually need to buy one of these, as opposed to both.
Yep, plan to use the open tuition resources so, will just purchase the revision kit.
Thanks again for the response.
August 9, 2020 at 4:05 pm #579746Hi Mike/Fellow ACCA students,
Was hoping you could help with my question.
I’m going to start preparing the English variant of the ACCA Corporate and Business law exam in a couple of weeks.
I think it’s been mentioned before that the syllabus has not changed. Would learning materials for 2019/2020 still be valid and if so, I may look to buy last years material (as it may save me money), or would you recommend to purchase the 2020/2021 BPP revision kit and exam kit ?
Thanks,
July 20, 2020 at 10:52 pm #577510Just leaving this here incase any other student has a similar question to the one I posted above and was looking for an answer and is based in the UK.
I spoke to ACCA student advisor over the phone and they confirmed exactly what Mike mentioned above. The Corporate Business Law paper is a CBE exam and can be taken at anytime in the year, just like the 3 Applied Knowledge exams.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, as local ACCA approved exam centre is closed, exams can be done remotely. It is done in partnership with the British Council and Proctor- U

Hope this is helpful to someone looking for an answer to the question I originally posted above. Please keep in mind that this applies to the UK and may be different in other countires.
