Unfortunately the ACCA are no longer doing the early exam entry that had reduced fees.
January 14, 2022 at 3:58 am #645964Unfortunately with the possibly of 2 to 4 exams remaining you can’t jump up to the Strategic Business Level papers, as technically you need to complete the Applied Skills Level first.
However, if say you only had FM left to take and wanted to take SBL as well you could book both for the March sitting, but you could not book SBL on it’s own unless you completed the Skills Level.
Hope that makes sense and all the best with your exam results.
January 11, 2022 at 1:12 pm #645667Hello, yes I did receive that email and have not taken any exams in December, but preparing for March.
October 18, 2021 at 1:22 am #638048Thank you Open Tuition for your free lectures. They helped me pass APM with 52%. I am so grateful. SBR here we come!
October 5, 2021 at 10:49 am #637011Thank you, I get it now.
July 19, 2021 at 1:37 am #628461Congratulations that was a good score.
July 19, 2021 at 1:21 am #628453Sadly I just missed out on 46%. I had a feeling I failed as I got my timings wrong. Never mind more practice is needed for next time.
July 19, 2021 at 1:17 am #628450Passed with 60%. So happy!
July 18, 2021 at 5:20 pm #628247Oh no.. that’s really bad. I hope ACCA will take everything into consideration when marking your paper. Wishing you all the best.
July 18, 2021 at 5:11 pm #628242I did not find the exam too bad but I am hoping for a miracle with my APM as I mucked up my timings. I suspect I will be retaking in September. Wishing you all the best of luck.
July 18, 2021 at 5:07 pm #628240All the best with your AAA, I am looking to take it as one of my option papers later down the line. Any tips?
July 18, 2021 at 4:52 pm #628236Hey, what results are you waiting for?
July 18, 2021 at 4:46 pm #628231@Chartec
Why are you still asking this question? Are you deliberately now just trying to wind people up? Please stop! Let’s talk about what results people are waiting for and how they felt the exams went instead.
July 18, 2021 at 3:45 pm #628207Please, please, please stop these email theories. These emails do not mean anything. As it has been stated before you would have at some point subscribed to them. You can easily unsubscribe if you don’t want to receive them.
In regards to the Learn Signal email it clearly states “Congratulations on COMPLETING your exam…” and is promoting new available resources regardless as to whether you have passed or not.
I understand how frustrating waiting for results can be, but we have not got long to wait now. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck. I am waiting for SBL and APM.
January 18, 2021 at 3:06 am #606536Hi Henry, I now have 4 papers left to take (including SBL). How about you? I agree why do they release the results at that time. 12 midday UK time would be better as it would also accommodate the other time zones with a number of students not having to wait until the middle of the night to get their results.
January 18, 2021 at 2:27 am #606526Congrats on passing and thanks Henry for the encouragement, I’ll give it a few days and then see how I feel. This ACCA journey has been a real struggle and my motivation is at rock bottom. I love learning but exams were never my strong point, despite the amount of practice.
January 18, 2021 at 1:27 am #606495Failed 46% second attempt. Don’t know if I can carry on with these exams, too stressful with the time pressure.
January 15, 2021 at 9:26 pm #606012Hi Everyone,
I am awaiting my SBL results but not feeling very hopeful, fingers crossed though. Despite this I decided to start studying APM as I enjoyed PM and there appears to be a bit of an overlap with SBL. The only thing is though I took PM sometime ago and have forgotten some of the knowledge so having to play catch up.My advise to anyone out there when you are thinking about which exam to do next bear in mind what papers you would like to do at the Professional level so you don’t have to go over stuff so much.
I will then be looking to do SBR then AAA. Not looking forward to SBR, but AA was my favourite subject so hopefully looking forward to ending on a high.
Best of luck to all those waiting for their results and if anyone has any tips for taking APM that would be great.
January 14, 2021 at 4:43 pm #605829In addition to the above location information, PQ magazine are also reporting that all UK centre based exams for March 2021 have been cancelled and that “students, including those who have already booked an exam at a centre, will be able to book a remote examination from January 25.”
The link to the article for more information is..
http://www.pqmagazine.com/acca-cancels-uk-centre-exams-for-march-sitting/I have not seen the announcement from the ACCA but if that is the case, I too have never sat an exam remotely and wondered when the time comes if I should book or not. I was planning on taking either one or two Professional papers (SBL & APM) depending on my December results for SBL. Any advise from those who have sat the professional papers remotely?
January 8, 2021 at 10:33 pm #605303Hi Kim,
Thank you so much for your reply, advice and pointers. I am a little way off from qualifying, but will get in touch nearer the time as it sounds interesting.
Best wishes and stay safe,
CathyDecember 13, 2020 at 5:10 pm #599838Hi, Sadly I got made redundant recently due to the covid 19 situation. I worked in the theatre industry so as you can image there are not many positions in that area at the moment. I have however been approached by a few companies (not in the same field) on LinkedIn mainly for Financial Accountant positions, which is a step up for me, but I have decided however to concentrate on my studies and try to get my exams finished by the end of next year.
In answer to you question although I was still working in SL I did get opportunities to also do additional work for example some budgeting and to take on full statutary accounts which also meant working with the auditors from planning to sign off for one of their smaller charities. I loved this aspect of my job and gave me more confidence. I feel if I had not embarked on the ACCA journey I may not have had the opportunity.
I didn’t get a degree, but did the AAT and became a member back in 1999. Going back to studying after all that time for me was difficult but felt it was worth it and had to start from the beginning again.
I am now 47 years old but really wish I had started it earlier as it has been a hard journey for me so far. There were times like yourself after failing an exam wandered if I should carry on with it and for me the answer was yes, I now only have three papers left to take and can see the end in sight.
All the best of luck with what ever you decide.
December 13, 2020 at 3:07 pm #599823Yes, I think there was a second variant. Not everyone had the same questions.
December 13, 2020 at 3:00 pm #599822Hi,
From my experience nothing in life is guaranteed, but you stand more of a chance if you have the right qualifications.
I have been a sales Ledger supervisor for the last 15 years with also experience of doing statutory accounts. About three years ago I tried for a more senior position with in the company I was at but was turned down. They gave it to someone who although had similar experience they were also ACCA qualified. So at that time I had a look at the job market to see what qualifications were needed for the position that I was aiming for. The majority wanted either PQ or Qualified ACCA/CIMA. I therefore embarked on my ACCA journey and am now in my final year. For me it has not been easy as I find exams extremely difficult and normally end up passing on my third attempt! But slowly and surely I am getting there.
I agree there is no guarantee of a better job at the end, but the knowledge I have gained a long the way has helped me become a better accountant.
So my personal advice is take a look at the current job market and see what is needed for the type of job you want in the future. Experience is highly valued as I have recruited a number of assistants over the years, but if they are studying or have a qualification they have an advantage.
Hope that helps.
October 27, 2020 at 6:12 pm #593288Thank you for sharing, I think it will be really helpful. 🙂 Good luck with your exam in December.
March 8, 2020 at 3:36 pm #564904Hi,
I was having a think about exam combinations and what I would have done if I had taken two at a time.
I would just take the Law paper on its own and get it out of the way, as Kim said you can take it at pretty much any time and the exam is only two hours. I would then study PM and see how it goes, if you feel you could also do another paper I would combine it with TX. Bear in mind though when the tax papers start, don’t make the mistake I did and sit the exam in last sitting of the season and then if you fail (which I am sure you won’t) have to learn all the new tax rules if there are any changes! FR and AA I think is a great combination and then you are left with FM which I felt was quite a technical exam.
You might also want to take into consideration what you want to do as your options at the Strategic Professional level, for example if you wanted to take APM you might want to take PM later down the line so you have it fresh in your mind when you take APM.
Also have a look at the ACCA’s website under the student section and then resources, there is lots of information in regards to the syllabus for each module as some subjects are bigger than others.
I really hope this helps and wish you all the best for your exams.
Cathy
