I had a friend in your position. Sat F1, F2 and F3 (a year long college course) and failed them all. Resat them all and failed again. He then went to AAT to start there.

AAT is more practical and so you may find it easier to get into. I believe (not 100% sure) the AAT is the equivalent to F1-F3 (you get those exemptions) but it can take up to 2 years. Either way. You should be able to get somewhere in AAT AND have a qualification at the end of it. Might be slower, but for you it may be quicker to get moving! 🙂

If you’re really into Accountancy (why? ) then keep going. I’ve had friends fail the same exam 5 times before they pass it.

But my recommendation is to at least look into the AAT to see if they can give guidance and an easier step to begin. Hopefully building your knowledge and confidence to then tackle ACCA! 🙂

Otherwise ask around people for colleges, TUTORS are the main thing. Chase the people not the company! Eg: Brian Benton was a fantastic lecturer for LAW and does most of the midlands courses for all companies I think (I went though Kaplan for him) Read as many notes as you can, make your own. Practice questions. Every college LOVES question practice.

Hi, thank you so much for your time. It feels so good talking with people who can understand how bad I feel and how things are with acca. What is really AAT. By the way I live in Cyprus and I don’t know if they offer this course. They do offer CAT but at the college said that it was better starting with ACCA. An other thing is that I’m not working in an Accounts company nor do I have any experience that’s why I’m thinking if it’s worth struggling so much for ACCA.

I was always a possitive person and optimistic and I don’t recognise myself feeling so down and disapointed. Cause I really tried hard and I believed that I would pass F2. How harder can the following subjects get? Cause we have a life also to deal with! Oh God! Am I the only one feeling like this? I really don’t know what to do…

so find a really good tutor who can help you out and clear your concepts
Use the OT notes and lectures as well..if you have any difficulty just post the question on the forums..we will be able to help you out 🙂

Hi, thanks for your reply! I have a diploma in office administation. No accounting backround and I didn’t take any lessons before starting acca because as they say we start from the scratch. For F2 I was studying around two hours a day and much more at weekend. Six months I was at home all day, I even stoped going to gym to save time that’s why I feel so dissapointed right now. I solved the Exam Kit three times but I found the level of questions at the Paper Based Exam much more difficult (result 47%) even more second time at the CBE (result 38%). I studied also the OT notes… I’m really thinking serious what I should do not to waste my time and money…
