Hi Rajiv,
The Concept of triangulation involves using multiple data sources in an investigation to produce understanding.like i mentioned in the previous article, what is is involved is that you need to obtain findings from different data sources. The data sources may include but not limited to articles ,magazines, books ,journals and then you must support your findings from with these sources so that you can have a firm support for your conclusions on each and every research outcomes.
i want to help you but you need to provide more insights on your research topic and research question and findings. However,my understanding is that if you have age groups as a variable it could mean you are studying on population nevertheless age is always a factor on demographic.
if your research topic is based on aged groups, this should be supported by a theoretical framework and then the outcomes from the question should be evaluated in light with other data sources such as reports from statistical reports, newspapers, media reports, journal and articles regarding the same issue at hand and then draw conclusions based on the analysis of both the primary and secondary data and then draw a conclusion on that reasearch outcome and then you do it for the rest of the outcomes.
Whatever you are working on should be based on the theoretical framework and or conceptual frmawork otherwise your conclusion would be subjective and questionable.November 16, 2016 at 8:38 am #349225Dear Period 33 Students,

JosephMay 4, 2016 at 9:29 am #313646They are various sampling techniques which are available which include the following;
Probabilty sampling-systematic sampling
-stratified sampling
-cluster sampling
-multi stage samplingNon probability sampling includes
Purposive sampling
-Modal instance sampling
-expert sampling
-quota samplingWhen you look at the above sampling, they are all sampling techniques but you need to chose one which you are comfortable and easy to apply to your research results

May 4, 2016 at 9:19 am #313645When you look at the Topic theme “Critical review of key factors of employee motivation within an organisation “This can be regarded as the Main Objective. But when you look at Specific objectives, these are the ones which are specific to achieve and that is the reason why you have formulated the Research questions so that the answers to those question should help achieve the objectives set.
In other words, what specific Objectives do you wish to achieve in your organisation. By achieving short term objectives will in the process achieve the main objective in turn? Remember that the Objectives should be SMART.

April 27, 2016 at 10:25 am #312831Hi Students,
• Triangulation of data
Triangulation involves using multiple data sources in an investigation to produce understanding.
ideally, get your finding from each and every data sources you have used.eg newspaper ,article, magazines, strategic document etc and tie it up to the outcomes from one of the variables ie the motivation issue in question e.g surpervision.do this for each and every variable and then produce a meaning
in other words, how many theorist talk about the same factor of motivation ,and how does it relate to your findings.is your findings supported by other researchers or not, then make a conclusion.
JosephApril 27, 2016 at 10:19 am #312830The nine research questions are ok and use of 3 theorists is also fine.Remember that you need to find out other data sources such as newspaper ,articles,DVD,thesis just to mention a few as this will help support your analysis and conclussions

April 27, 2016 at 9:13 am #312820Hi Emolas,
if you have 20 questions you need to analyse each one of them in turn one after the other. The drawing of graphs should be done in the presentation and description of results.i hope you are not confusing the presentation and descriptions of results with analysis. In presentation ,you are expected to put up the findings in Tables and Graphical formats while in Analysing you are expected to triangulate your findings.
My Opinion on the number of questions,i feel the 20 questions are too much and 10 or less can still work coz you will spend lots of time analysing each question

February 3, 2016 at 3:20 pm #299100hi @dels-T6 is part of the Transferable skills. You need to use technology to record, analyse financail data,to collect information from range of sources and to present research findings.
You need to use BusinessModels/ techniques to assist in your research.Models include Motivational theories,so you need to use those theories in your Literature reviews.
You must show evidence that you have been able to apply T6 through the use of Technology. When presenting your findings you can use softwares such as SPSS or even Excel Sheets.
The goodness at these stage is that you are not required to carry out any hypothesis on the fifindings.Make sure you design your questionnaire in such a way that you will be able to obtain results which you will present properly.
i hope this information will be helpful
November 9, 2015 at 8:48 am #281237Hi Josnus,
You can only use the data sources that is in the literature review.Yes that is the right direction.use different data sources to support your findings as long as it is included in the literature review

November 9, 2015 at 8:45 am #281236Hi Hamad,
From my understanding you are not addressing the markers feed back.your presentation is separate from the analysis part.if i were you ,i will could tackle it like this
Presentation.
In the presentation ,you need to show the results of your findings in graphs, pie charts, and construct a frequency distribution of data on each and every motivation variable that you have used. You are merely presenting facts as they are?The facts in discussion should be related to the research questions.this is not the analysis stage
Analysis,evaluation stage
At this stage you need to relate your findings to the motivation theories, articles, newspaper articles, financial statements and see to what extend you have achieved your objectives and then draw conclusions based on your findings.i have written an article on triangulation ,please refer to it.

October 15, 2015 at 10:55 am #276411Dear Topic 6 Students,
Ref:Appendix 1-Research and Analysis Project assessment Criteria.
Usually students have a tendency of wanting to show reliance on an individual i.e. a workmate, friends, line managers or even perhaps mentors for them to determine their assessment Criteria in the RAP. The OBU pack clear shows what you need to do in order to score well.in this case you need to re look on Appendix 1 page 59 and 60.
I will take some time to discuss each assessment criteria in details; therefore you can as well participate in my discussion
Understanding of accountancy /business models
There are thousands if not billions of business models/concepts available. The choices you make is very important. You need to choose an appropriate business concept that is relevant to the Objectives set. You also need to show evidence of wide reading by including other relevant evidence such as articles, newspapers, Magazines etc. Your ability to determine the right data will help determine the Pass Grade you are likely to be awarded.
You need to demonstrate that you understand what you are doing. Similarly, the understanding of the accounting concept is vital and its relevance to the topic in discussion.
Irrelevant Business models/concepts, poor choice of theory, limited understanding and reliance on narrow range of materials will cost you a fail grade in the understanding of accountancy/business model. This is a key Technical and professional skill
The next skill I will look at will be application of accountancy/business models-look out
October 13, 2015 at 8:44 am #276150Useful insights
1. How to relate the theories to the Questionnaire and then to the Analysis Part?
This is analysis part of the research.
Firstly look at the responses from your questionnaire in the presentation, triangulate your findings to what the theories says in your literature review and then evaluate your findings. This will help you determine whether your conclusions are in line with the findings from the theories or not and then make conclusions. You can relate your findings to any other relevant data you have gathered to support your findings. You need to make meaning/judgement of your findings.
2. Do you analyse each factor through a separate chart or put them all in a common one.
Yes , you need to analyse each factor separate from the other factors. Similarly when making presentation of facts, each factor needs to be looked at independently and you need to make histograms for each factor
3 HOW TO TACKLE EVALUATION & ANALYSIS IN THE RAP – Part I- Available on Open Tuition Website
“In order to produce a successful RAP you have to evaluate and / or analyse information from a range of sources. This means creating some meaning of what you have found, or making a judgment or coming to a conclusion. If you only report the information that you have found or generated, you will not pass the RAP. The ability to evaluate and / or analyse information is a very important graduate attribute and the grade that you are awarded for your RAP will be significantly influenced by ‘how well’ you demonstrate your evaluative and/or analytical skills in your RAP”.

September 29, 2015 at 2:46 pm #274113@josnus .Firstly ,am not sure if i have got your questions right. It appears the data has been mixed up. Evaluation of data comes after data Collection .You can use even 3 theorist and other related Studies in your data Collection .Again you need to set up everything in your overall research approach.
With regards to the setting up of question, I think it does not matter so much as long as you are able to get the data you want. The most important thing in setting up your objectives is using SMART. The objectives set should be able to help you answer the Research questions. Instead of using both the Questionnaire and interview, a questionnaire alone is sufficient.
You should not indicate that question one is Maslow and question two is e.g Vroome.
The questions have to be simple but straight to the Point.
i hope I have answered your queries. You are free to make further enquiries

September 24, 2015 at 2:26 pm #273403Hi@josuns,
Probability sampling
Simple sampling
Random sampling
Stratified sampling
Cluster sampling
systematics samplingNon Probability
Quota
Convenience
Purposive samplingYou can as well make reference to the work of Reid
Reid, S. (1987). Working with statistics: An introduction to quantitative methods for
Social scientists. London: Polity. Please look through on the suitable method and understand how to use it.
Yes you can use the Company you work for but you need to consider ethical issues and you need to obtain permission from the Manager. You also need to consider the response rate as this will help you determine the sample size

May 14, 2015 at 8:28 am #245869@ bishicumber.
1.Below the Period ,you can as well include Oxford Brookes University otherwise thats about right
2.With regards to someone paying for you.i will suggest if its possible that they credit your account and then you pay yourself. The steps are the usual ones, once you long into the OBU account, you will be expected to upload all the necessary file including RAP,SLS andAppendix. After this step you will be directed to the payment method/options so that you can pay the required amounts.once that is done, you will receive the confirmation mail that you successfully submitted the RAP and it will indicate the date of the results. There different payment options ,but you only have to pick one which is appropriate to your circumstances.

May 12, 2015 at 4:15 pm #245530HI bishicumber,
i think with regards to Q1, i do not think that can be a problem but from my understanding it appears that you are likely to complicate your questionnaire and the Analysis and Evaluation aspect. This is because you will need to analyze information for example directors motivational issues as well as a General workers motivational issues.Otherwise ,my advise is that ,if this is your initial preps better have a second look at it.if it is a markers/moderator post it as it is then i will advise you better.
Finstats are not necessary ,but an analysis of them and out they affect the motivation issues that you have raised is key
Good luck
JosephApril 2, 2015 at 8:56 am #239886Hi Jenique,
My advise is that you need to include more than one theorist atleast three(3).This will help you in part in your analysis stage. Its very important. One theory might not address all the issues needed in your report.i used atleast 3 theorists and the MARKER never flaged it, so its fine
All the best

January 16, 2015 at 8:57 am #222792Dear Blizz,
With regardsto evaluation of your findings, you need to triangulate your research findings to other data sources and then draw conclusions based on the findings, again ensure that your are consistent in referencing your work as it is a key graduate skill.
i hope this advise will be usefull
