I wrote the dreadful wolf of Wall Street AFM- my 2nd attempt.
The paper was very very time pressured.
A lot of discussions parts came up with not enough time to think and analyze questions. Part a of question 1 threw me off.
The hedging parts were good but I may have made mistakes. Reading the risk management technical article may have helped for one of the discussion parts. I predicted multi netting & VAR as it didn’t came often. Question 2 was also examined differently with lots of discussions.
Question 3 is not a typical question but I have seen financial statements reconstruction in past papers & thought it was due to come up so it didn’t throw me off but I didn’t prep much for it so I did what I could.
I stuck to the motto “keep calm and carry on, attempt all parts”
Passing this paper would be more joyous than qualifying in itself. This paper is tough and never examined the same. There is always some curve ball. IMO, the examiner is moving away from calculations and more into discussion to examine students understanding. My advice to future students is to do the easy parts but make sure to attempt all parts. Practice past papers to learn formulas, techniques and approach and to gain speed. All the best to everyone. I hope this is it for me, I am totally burn out.

Completely agree. Had a little hope, but after the examiners report, im simply taking out the books this weekend. Did two papers in Dec, afm and sbl and am totally burnt out.

Thank you very much Sir. A last question please: in the same scenario where return for sept 2017 is submitted in jan 2018 but lets suppose the return for december 2017 is not submitted until july 2018..does the penalty rate on the dec 2017 return remain at 2% even though it is 6 months late?
