April 20, 2016 at 4:22 pm #311920Hello, regardless of whether you were exempt or not in f6. For P6 you will need a lot of time to understand the concept of UK Tax as you will need to provide advise on what needs to be done in the exam paper. I think you need time to do so and after June 16 the syllabus changes so my advise would be to go for Sep sitting and start studying for the new syllabus.
November 10, 2015 at 11:40 am #281463Hi Sampson,
I think for maters to be considered, I use the general principle of;
Materiality – Calculate the materiality and make a comment on it (usually a mark for it)
Correct/Incorrect Treatment – Read the question to see what treatment has been done (usually you will have to identify the incorrect treatment and suggest the correct treatment for it or what has been done and what should be done).
Lastly combine the first 2 points with the Audit Procedures below;
Re- performance
Enquiry
Confirmation
Analytical Procedures
Recalculation
Inspection
Observation.Make sure you go into detail with each of these and relate to the scenario to earn 1-1.5 mark per point explained.
Best of luck!
September 4, 2011 at 8:26 pm #87461Not sure on why you have opted for CAT instead of just jumping the ACCA band wagon, will be faster for you.
As for the jobs after you qualify, ryitfc has mentioned in which fields you canwork, just to add you can also be a tutor or a consultant.
ACCA has not limits on the jobs market, you just need to qualify and opporunities will be knocking on your door.
September 4, 2011 at 8:21 pm #87600Age does not really count on the any studies, I know some people who are in their 30’s and have opted to do ACCA.
As for the papers failed, that should not put you down, very few people pass all the papers in their first attempt. Its your will power that should be strong, it should not matter how many times you have failed for each paper, as long as you tell yourself that you can do it and have what it takes, carry on…
If you are struggling with the papers, change your revision technique and also do 1 or 2 papers in each sitting and measure the performance.
Hope it helps, All the best…
September 4, 2011 at 8:11 pm #86228If you are planning to do F3 in October then go for it buddy, get it out of the way and then do F7 and F8. You will cover some F3 areas in F7 so will be a walk through for you.
F8 needs book knowledge and understanding too,I would say when studying it, try to understand the concept and you will be fine when you are doing the past papers at the end, otherwise if you just whiz through the syllabus will be hard for you at the end.
Definitely do F7 and F8 rather than F7 and F9, as both are numerical.
All the best…
