I did self study for paper P1 and P3 and passed them both at first attempt.
P1 and P3 are easy to study, I do not believe they have any topic or concept which is very difficult to understand. So self study did the job for me to get grip over the theories, concepts. However both of these papers are very application-based and that is where they get difficult and should really challenge you. There are many case studies available online relating to each topic and they helped me here very much.

But P2 on the other hand is a different paper. The concepts, calculations are not so easy to get them right first time. They are very difficult until you understand them well, so I think you should get a good tutor for this paper.
I am a big fan of LSBF’s online course but for paper P2 I will NEVER recommend their lectures over real tuition for a number of reasons. First, LSBF lectures for P2 cover basic calculations and not the more-complicated-ones. Secondly, the syllabus for this paper is too big, each area is full of tiny important bits and it will take much longer to cover if you do it on your own.

I need answer to that too.

I have P2 2012 Kaplan book with me and I see few new things. But I see no changes to P2 study guide on ACCA website.
