Sorry that was a mistake on my part.

    I meant X replied saying he’ll give 100.

    Hm, alriight.
However if A were to reply yes to X’s question (would you take 75), wouldn’t it become binding?
Thereby making X’s text an offer?

    So just to double check.
X’s advert is an invitation to treat followed by A’s enquiry regarding the price.
this is followed by X’ refusal.
    A then makes an offer.

    Am i right?

    I have a small confusion,
Could the first text be considered an offer in any case?

But isn’t the advert a invitation to treat and not an offer?
So shouldn’t A’s reply be an offer followed by X’s rejection which leads to termination of A’s offer?

Sorry, I assumed I mentioned 22% in the first post. Sorry for the inconvenience.
    But thank you!
    Finally understood it!

Also, do we have to account for parents share of dividends paid by the associate?
    i.e 22% of 1000?

So just to clarify mid year acquisitions are only taken into account if it occurs in the year financial statements are prepared?

    Everything else I understood.
    Thank you!
