The warrant without the laptop makes little sense. Hence unlikely they are separable. Hope that helps.
September 6, 2018 at 5:50 pm #471912You are missing the other CCY in your forex.
Is the rate expressed in USD/ EUR or EUR/ USD?
Let’s say it’s real life and that would be USD/ EUR. In this case you sell the contract currency to the bank, so you use the first rate. You multiply the 20 Mio EUR to the first rate.
You can easily asses this, as you will get less USD than if you used the other rate. The bank always wins!September 4, 2018 at 10:54 pm #471464‘it is estimated that its after-tax net cash flows will increase by 8% in the first year only and then stay fixed at this level for the foreseeable future.’
Means they only increase in the first year and then remain at that level.
Silly complication imho.September 4, 2018 at 10:48 pm #471461I also have seen risk free rate used to disount. Also following a reply on this, thanks for asking!
September 1, 2018 at 9:59 am #470602I realized I was missing out on correcting for 3/12 (3 months future while rates are quoted annually). Would that mean we can do all calculations without the tick complication?

June 6, 2017 at 8:53 pm #391078Thanks John, I think I need to do some more reading 🙂
Awesome lectures btw. Just tried to watch others (for diversity purposes), but gave up after 5 mins. You’re seriously a great lecturer!June 4, 2017 at 10:54 am #390146Sorry John, I must’ve listened to hundreds of your lectures (twice or more often), so I should’ve known better who teaches the subject :*(
Studying brings me to a dark place but your lectures keep the light lit!
And your answer makes perfect sense! It was the election question and your explanation makes much more sense than what I read.November 24, 2015 at 10:43 pm #285045Your words in Gods ear Mike!
November 24, 2015 at 9:44 pm #285032Well Mike, the two are very often considered together, as one is hiding the source and the other one is hiding the destination of the cash. At least from audit perspective, this should be covered by background checks, check of significant fund destinations (in case these flow to “suspicious” countries) aso. From my end this should be included in the syllabus, as I mentioned above it’s highly current as a topic and there is legislation in place – at least at European level – auditors need to comply with. Also if we look on the EU commission site, they are always mentioned together as prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing. But – if it’s not in the syllabus – it’s not in the syllabus :))

November 24, 2015 at 9:29 pm #285024Guess I was clicking the wrong buttons:
https://opentuition.com/topic/acca-exam-tips-december-2015-bpp-lsbf-first-intuition/November 24, 2015 at 11:19 am #284875That is quite a bold approach, considering IFRS 15 is not yet applicable in Europe. so we are under the assumption that IFRS 15 (and ifrs 9 as a matter of fact) is (are) applicable in all cases in the exam (unless otherwise stated)?
November 24, 2015 at 11:11 am #284874Hi Mike,
Could you please include the link where you included the exam tips of the major providers? I was looking on the P7 section of opentuition, but could not find it.
Thanks!
