    Hello colleagues

    I sat 2 professional papers on December 2020, and I received the generic emails from ACCA and LS. And guess what?
    I passed both papers, please ignore the whole generic emails from ACCA or by any alternative learning providers before releasing the results.
    Be positive and keep calm.

    Good luck

    Thank you very much for your response.

    Mr. John, Is it enough to practice the last 14 past papers for AFM or shall I consider a revision kit with them?

    Please advise?

    @Kim Smith

    Dear Kim,

    Many students on opentuition mentioned that they were not allowed to use their calculators and 2 scratch papers on the exam day as requested by the invigilator, while you confirmed that all candidates have the right for that.

    Can you please advise how I will make sure that on the exam day I will not face the same issue by the exam invigilator?

    In addition to the above, I’m seeking yourself advise regarding using the spreadsheet. I’ve booked my AFM exam CBE at home, and I’m wondering if I can just consider filling the spreadsheet with the calculated answers using the calculator instead of using the Excell functions or equations? Is that acceptable by the examiners?

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Amani.

    @Kim Smith

    Thanks for your response.

    Dear Kim, it is not about conflicting information by British council Jordan.

    It is about the recent announcements by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan government, all schools and universities will return back to get their education face to face on the 7th of February 2021.

    ACCA held the centre based exams in jordan last September/December 2020 when the situation was more difficult.

    I’m sure that ACCA is taking the best decision to protect us, but the situation is much better than before.

    Can you please advise regarding the remotely exams from home after the whole aforementioned complaints by ACCA candidates?

    Thanks
    Amani

    @Kim Smith

    First I want thank you regarding your information about the generic communication, I passed my December 2020 exams.

    Secondly, I received an email from ACCA regarding cancellation of centre based exams in Jordan.
    I contacted British council jordan and they are ready to hold March 21 exams as the situation in Jordan is getting better under Covid 19 pandemic. In addition British council backed to offer the usual services since the beginning of 2021.

    Even our government cancelled the partial lockdown since the first of January 2021 as well the situation is getting better.

    Why ACCA cancelled March 21 sitting in Jordan as this decision is the opposite of our government approach.

    I sent an email to ACCA yesterday and I called the customer service today with no luck to reach anyone.

    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Amani Abuzaid

    I can’t remember that the bond was bought by GBP 300,000
    Anyway, if it was bought with the aforementioned amount
    For sure there is no capital gains ??

    As I recall
    The bond was bought on the 1st of July and sold on the 31st October 2017
    The bond nominal value is GBP 250,000 with interest rate 3%
    The bond was sold by premium for the amount of GBP 302,500
    And the interest income was included in the selling price
    Acordingly ,
    GBP 250,0000 the bond nominal value
    GBP 2,500 interest income for 4 months and
    GBP 50,0000 capital gains

    Thanks

    Well thanks for your answer
    So, if I used the updated OT notes and lectures FA2016 with new revision kit
    Will be enough to be prepared for June’s f6 exam?
    And can you please advise when the new notes and lectures will be released?

    Many thanks.
