paper was ok & not time pressured but i also did some silly mistakes in hurry & i also dont try to cut the whole question & do again.
the big mistake was taken taken subsidary period first 4 monthen & then whole year but here should take 12 months first & then 4 months.
question 4 was a little bit tricky !!!

Paper was easy but time pressured….

I made some blunders in paper so i will penalise surely….

    1. In question 1, incremental Working capital is not taken as a consequence of applying inflation rate moreover i made calculation to “million rupees” instead of “000”

    2. In question 2, i did (1-tax) with debt included in WACC but tax were already less in the rate moreover when calculation IRR, i didnot take interest after tax….

I made such blunders after great knowledge of F9, and i am not believing that what done even i known all.

    Luck really really matters.

    May God, i got 50….

Q9 was related with distributable profits. Only dividend can be paid out of distributable profits.

It also relates with reduction of capital.

    Distributable profit includes

Profit (for the year and past years accumulated)
    Capital
less Depreciation but revaluation reserves not taken

    By aplying above rules

Only *1000 pounds were available for distribution not 4000 pounds.

All directors and shareholders if knowingly involve were gulity of fraud and have to pay back dividend inculding penalty.

    *Last year loss 2000
    profit ds year 3000
    only 1000 pounds available.

But i didnot write about reduction of capital because Capital amount was not available in question. I write only Distribualble profits.

I think examiner will give 5 marks. Hope so

Kaplan is good. I will also take F5 & F6 in June 2011. But i always do self study. F2 exempted June 2010
    F3 exempted June 2010
    F1 passed 60 marks June 2010
    F7 pass 57 marks June 2010
    now i take F4 in December 2010

    F5 & F6 will take in June 2011

Best of luck for all students for F4.

I request all F4 students that please give your comments on F4 when ACCA will ask about exams after 16 December 2010. ACCA exxaminers always consider these points before exam checking.

The tutors guess were so not accurate…i was really expecting interpreting statute, veil of incorporation and contents of a contract…Didn’t think law of tort was going to come in the exam oh and question number 4 did anyone know about it…

You can find exact answer of Q4 in Kaplan Chapter 3 (The Law of Torts) (Page 74-75, 85-86)

You reminded me, I did mention injunctions and specific performance, but completely forgot liquidated damages.

With Q8 what led me onto intention was when the question pointed out the reasons given by Ben and Che for non-payment: that they were friends and family trying to help her out.

Domestic agreements only exist between spouses (as mention in Kaplan.)

Kaplan Book covers all the questions of this attempt except preEmption rights……

I think no one mention in Q8 that “If there is an implied promise to pay for services then it is suffient consideration for a valid contract”

This is mention in last paragraph of “Past Considearation in Kaplan Publication”.

Although providing services with nothing received in advance is a past consideration but it is suffient consideration as it is a implied promise to pay.

I think in Question 8, Domestic agrrement will not apply in case of brother and sister.

Both were liable for their 1000 pounds individually.
