I passed it too, very happy indeed. Thanks to Anna Lishman, fantastic mentor.
October 31, 2014 at 8:26 pm #207027@trephena, thanks for the help. It will sort of clear up the mess. Am still trying to sort out my graphs as the years are different.
The issue now is the difference in currencies as Easyjet uses ££ and Ryanair uses €. Plotting these on the same graphs is so challenging because am not sure whether I can use both £ & € on the same graph. Would be able to advice me on this, please?October 29, 2014 at 9:04 am #206515Hi Trephena
I have seen from the conversations above of someone who is doing M&S with JL as comparator. His problem was the difference in fin year ends. You said there is no problems and doesn’t need to use quarterly figures because the fin year ends were close enough.
But please look at my situation and help where possible?
Am doing T8 on Easyjet (Fin year end is September) with Ryanair (Fin year end is March) as comparator. So I am starting my analysis with 2011 fin years in both companies with easyjet’s last year being Sept 2013 (3 yrs) and Ryanair’s last year being March 2014 (4 yrs).
Is there any problems with this?August 23, 2014 at 2:38 pm #192018Wow!! @trephena, you are doing a great job in this forum. I like this, thank you so much.
August 23, 2014 at 11:48 am #192000Thanks guys for this discussion, the company I am assesing on my RAP have financial statements from different sources eg from their website, London Stock Exchange, and other search sites. However there is a slight difference between them and some of them have extra bits which is missing in the company’s statements, I know that this is what I should mention in my limitations section, but I dont know which ones to rely on and whether to use the extra bits as well. At the moment I am using all the financial statements by just selecting what I think is important for my use.
Any ideas on how I should go about it? ThanksAugust 23, 2014 at 4:08 am #191972@trephena, you have just open my eyes on how I should tackle this project, I think I was going on the wrong direction. Thank you so much for that information.
August 22, 2014 at 4:32 pm #191927@trephena – Thank you so much, this is so helpful indeed. Talking about PESTEL factors and other specific markets being different if they are based in different countries, that I do understand – but what if they are airlines companies and both based and fly in Europe only, will there be much of the different between them? Remember one is using £ and the other €. Thanks
