You shouldn’t give up yet. You are young and have plenty of time ahead of you. You managed to pass the first 4 so you have the ability to pass these too. But clearly you need to change the way you are preparing for your exams or your exam technique as what you are doing right now isn’t working.

Are you practicing enough questions during the revision phase? In the last few weeks before the exam you should be spending 95% of your study time practicing questions and marking them. The other 5% should be spent brushing up on any areas of the syllabus that you are struggling with. This will be evident from question practice.

If you have the exam kit from a publisher such as Kaplan or BPP, your aim should be to complete every single question in the book at least once during revision. If you don’t have one, you need to get one as the exam kit is vital. Question practice is the key to passing all ACCA exams.

In the exam, are you giving yourself enough time to answer all questions? You must be ruthless with your timekeeping. There are 1.8 minutes per mark available, so a 2 mark question should take 3 minutes 36 seconds. If you spend longer than that, you risk running out of time and not being able to answer the questions at the end.

Are you working as well or studying full time?

Time management is not an issue with me.. i think the issue is the way i prepare for my exams..i am taking full classes from an institute but i think i need to change the way i prepare for my exams.. and yes i am a full time student..and thank for for the advise too 🙂

    Hi

I would carry on, clearly you have the knowledge to do well if scoring close to pass threshold therefore the only thing holding you back is your exam technique, this can only be improved by practising questions to exam time, getting some independent feedback on your work will also help but if not available, you need to be disciplined in terms of study, time management & content of answer, ie not waffle.

The qualification is worthwhile achievement to have, opening many doors.

Explain to your dad that this is what you want, that you can achieve qualification & how it’ll setup you up for the future to be able to work in many areas of the finance sector.

Believe in yourself & remain tenacious throughout & you’ll come out the other side post qualified & feel an immense sense of pride at what you had accomplished not to mention the endless future prospects that will greet you.

    Best of luck.

    Thank u for ur suggestion.
